Are you a FTM feeling overwhelmed? We've prioritized the most important topics to get you started. Given birth before but wishing things had gone better last time? You're not alone. Go deep on whichever topics concern you most. Less anxiety. A better birth experience. SoShe can help. * * * Why I built the SoShe app: I learned after my first birth that I should have been better prepared. (And yes, I used all the pregnancy tracking apps.) Now I'm a mom of three, and I WISH I knew then what I know NOW. Absolutely! It's fun to know that your baby is the size of a clementine, or a kumquat. Other apps do that really well. But do you know how to push (and how not to push)? How to reduce the risk of tearing, or an unplanned c-section? Do you know what speeds up labor even more than Pitocin? Or what to do if you're having back labor? Do you know which natural methods are shown to get labor started, which don't actually work, and which to be really careful of? Did you know that you don't have to deliver while lying on your back, and that this might not be the best option anyway? I didn't know any of this. And I really wish I had. SoShe is to get really prepared for birth. Better information. Less fear. More confidence. Better care. Better outcomes for your and your baby. SoShe is evidence-based and nonjudgemental. No topic is taboo or TMI. Let's get real. Really prepared. Really supported. #SoSheCanThrive
Soshe
Soshe is an awesome app for preparation for labor. There is so much out there in the pregnancy world that is focused on misinformation and scare tactics, it’s refreshing to absorb evidence based information that focuses on feeling prepared, supported and informed. My husband and I are currently pregnant with our first child and really enjoy the presentation of information in a self-paced method so that we can process on our own timeline! Plus how wonderful to have this option when in person classes are currently nerve-wracking due to COVID rates. We are grateful to our friend, Emma, for recommending and have already recommended to several couples!
Great resource for a positive birth experience
SoShe was a wonderful addition to our labor and delivery prep! Quick, intuitive modules make it easy to learn about different stages and options for labor. The app seems to use the BRAIN method (benefits, risks, alternatives, intuition, nothing) to help with decision making around birth preferences. What makes the app unique is the birth planning materials it includes for a caesarean (most birth planning tools online have limited information for this possibility). Although we did not have a c-section it was great to feel prepared for any possible scenario. Would definitely recommend for any pregnant person and their birth partner!
Excellent tool for birth workers
I love using Soshe to support my clients as they prepare for birth. The content is broken down into digestible bites for birth givers to take in at their own pace. They can ask me questions as they arise and we review the material as needed. This app has been especially useful for multips who have difficulty signing up for an in-person class due to childcare issues. I often hear that there is material they didn’t know, and they appreciate that they can review coping skills as often as needed. It’s a very handy tool for me to use in supporting my clients.
The best labor prep you can get! ❤️
I used the Soshe app during my pregnancy to prepare for labor. The videos and checklists were so so helpful in learning more about my birth preferences to come to the birth of my first baby more informed and empowered. I also had the pleasure of meeting with the amazing Jenn, a birth doula and one of the creators of the Soshe app. She literally did a “labor practice” with me and my husband and taught us different techniques we can use on the real day. The things she taught us (for example, the back pressure techniques) were some of the most helpful for me during labor. As a person who thought I had no pain tolerance whatsoever, I ended up having a beautiful and empowering natural birth with no medications or interventions, largely thanks to Jenn and Soshe! I highly recommend it if you’re planning to try natural or not. It is so important to know what is important for you in your birth experience and there is so much to learn. Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
Great resource!
I loved using the Soshe app during my pregnancy. It was a great resource and convenient. I was able to watch the videos at the pace that worked for me and my husband because he works odd hours. I enjoyed using the birth plan too and the coaching sessions were an added bonus. Even though the app was all online it was nice to have a few sessions of talking with a coach, ask questions and get feedback.
Amazing resource for childbirth
I’m a new parent that took several classes and read several books before giving birth, but this app was by far the best resource. The videos, written information and checklists are invaluable. My husband and I watched the videos together and it helped us practice breathing techniques that we used throughout our labor. I highly recommend taking advantage of the coaching sessions as well! It was so helpful to get advice from Naima on what a birth plan should be like and how to talk with my OB about it. I felt like I learned more information on labor and delivery from this app than I ever got talking with my OB. You won’t be disappointed, this is an amazing app!
Great resource!
This is a wonderful app for families and birth professionals. It’s such a good resource and support during a really important time.
