At Lumen, we are at the forefront of metabolic health research, combining pioneering technology with scientific rigor. 

Lumen drives groundbreaking research by providing researchers insights into their study participants' metabolic processes. The heart of our innovation lies in our first-of-its-kind, unique, and validated hand-held device. The Lumen device is a breathalyzer, which provides insights into real-time metabolic state by using CO2 and flow sensors to indirectly determine metabolic fuel usage.

The Lumen device pairs with this mobile app that allows continuous monitoring of metabolic health in daily life, in effect extending the lab setting to participants' day to day experience.

Lumen's ease of use and availability as a personal device to multiple research subjects  allows researchers to design innovative study designs, collect objective data and track metabolic progress anywhere.

We offer two ways for researchers to incorporate Lumen into their work:

1. Lumen as a metabolic measurement device (Metabolic Lab) - suitable for researchers studying metabolic responses to acute or long term interventions. Researchers can define and monitor metabolic progress remotely and effortlessly. Furthermore, they can broaden their scope and study group as there is no need for participants to visit the lab.  

2. Lumen as a lifestyle intervention tool (Lumen - Metabolic Coach) - ideal for researchers studying the effect of lifestyle interventions on metabolism. Researchers can use Lumen's lifestyle guidance on a specific audience, or choose to adjust Lumen's recommendations according to their needs. Lumen's consumer app drives high participants' adherence by providing them with real time metabolic biofeedback, metabolic health insights, and personalized lifestyle recommendations.

Please note that as the Lumen device does not have an O2 sensor, it is not the best tool to measure energy expenditure.
