BikeGPX is the best way to navigate fixed-route rides such as charity rides, sportives and audaxes where a GPX file has been provided by the organizer, as well as routes you plan yourself in advance. - Easily send GPX files to your phone from your Mac or PC - no account required - Off Route Alarm plays a sound if you go off your route - On-screen Elevation Graph shows what big hills are coming up (in-app purchase required) - Sharp Turn Alarm looks for upcoming sharp turns and plays a warning sound (in-app purchase required) - Route ahead highlighting indicates which way to go when different parts of the route overlap - User accounts allow access to your routes from multiple devices - Routing continues to work when the app is backgrounded or the phone is in sleep mode - Optional track recording, so you can export your ride as a GPX when completed - Support for Bluetooth speed/cadence sensors, heart rate monitors and power meters Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
Love the app BUT paid upgrade still locked?!
Great app… so much so that I paid for the upgrade. However it’s still not giving me access to the locked features??? Appreciate if there’s a way to reach out to the developer. Happy to change my review if this can be rectified.
Love this app
This app is excellent, it has all the features I was looking for, and is very accurate and reliable. Being able to import gpx file la using URLs from common websites like garmin connect and strava is super convenient. Love the turn alerts, goal setting, off track alerts, altitude graph, etc.
Great App, not Missing One Important Feature
This solves a big problem for me, getting routes from my pc to my phone. However, it doesn’t retain the names I give my routes. Now the app has a good ten or so routes but when I want to choose one, I can’t tell which is which. Please add a feature to rename routes or, even better, to keep the name of the gpx file as the route name.
Developer just ignores you
I’ve written 6 emails. Not one reply from the developer. The issue is not resolved in any way. You can record a trail in the bike gpx app, but you cannot do anything with it. How do you save it to your routes. I’m using this on a samsung tablet. Also does the same thing in my iPhone. I’m always up to date. No one will respond to you .
Turn alarm did not work
I purchased the premium upgrade for the audible turn alarm. Took it out for my first ride and it did not work. I fiddled for an hour with notification, screen lock, and audio settings. Nothing worked.
Great app. A minor suggestion.
I have been using BikeGPX for years to navigate my way through different neighborhoods. Buying the premium version is cheap and worth it. It’s not as clean a user interface as Ride Spot, but with BikeGPX I get alerts when it’s time to turn or if I get off my route. Ride Spot simply traces over your saved route with no feedback, so if you need to keep the display on the whole time sucking your battery. Both apps will record your ride if you want that. Importing GPX files into BikeGPX is simple. Just load it from the website, then use your phone app to take a picture of the QR code. I wouldn’t mind having BikeGPX auto-dim with just an icon showing, then turn back on when approaching a turn. (Ride Spot has auto-dim with the icon, but without feedback, this feature is useless when navigating.) Right now the BikeGPX relies on the phone settings to dim the display, but will continue to give audible alerts even when the screen is dark. I have to wake my phone while riding to see what’s coming up and that could be dangerous.
No longer works
I bought the premium version of this app and used it successfully once. It was great. Now when I try to upload a gpx file, using any method, it gets corrupted In the transfer. When I try to run it on the app, it just crashes. I’ve tried importing from different sites—the problem is definitely BikeGPX and a developer who does not bother maintaining the website/app. As someone else pointed out, there is no customer support with the app, so it’s a non-functional waste of money.
This version adds points of interest to the map, to help you find water refill points, toilets, bike shops and pumps.
