That's simply enough to take over my heart!” 83% – GameStar “Ultimately, Trüberbrook is a charming journey through a wonderfully well-realized 1960s Germany. Its accessible and streamlined mechanics are simple yet effective, offering an experience that anyone can jump into.” 7.5 – TechRaptor “Luckily, I found just what I was looking for in developer Bildundtonfabrik’s love letter to surrealist fiction like Twin Peaks. Beautiful, but story is not good
The game app works fine and I had no technical issues. The Game world is interesting and beautifully rendered. The puzzles and story in the first half were great. Then in the second half it kind of fell apart with lots of bizzare events, non-science based "science fiction" and nonsensical puzzles. The second half was just a slog. OMG the unskippable, interminable concert scene in town! The ending is a let down, the big "final" decision you have to make doesn't matter at all, and you feel nothing for the poorly developed characters involved. Not a great adventure game by any means.
Game was fun until...
The game wasn't bad, though I had to really reduce the graphics to play on my mac mini. That seems ridiculous on a point and click game. But my biggest issue with the game came after I had to reinstall the OS on my computer and even though I used the copy of the game that was on my time machine backup, I lost all my saved games. Are you kidding me?! So where do the saved games go if they aren't in the app content package?! That right there was enough for me to not play anymore. Developers need to get a bit smarter about how to handle game saves so people can make sure they are backed up and can be used again, like in my case.
Beautiful but boring
Sorry, I wanted to love this game. The look is beautiful. Gorgeous vibe. I love Twin Peaks and X-Files. But the story and interation is just soooo slooowww. Not for me I guess.
One of a Kind
Brilliant story and masterpiece of a soundtrack. Only once in a while do you find a point and click game that stands out and ups the game. This is one. The characters are beautiful, and the voice overs are so amazing. The story is fun, interesting, odd, strange, weird, exciting, and so out there.
Good Fun!
Game holds interest. Had no glitches or chashes. Puzzles are, for the most part, logical. Has 2 possible endings. Played on a Macbook pro 16inch.
Unplayable in current version
Maybe it's just the current version of the game, but it is nearly impossible to play. Clicking on various locations or objects causes a glitch that sends you wandering off in the opposite direction. Even when your character does move where you actually want them to go , the controls are rather clunky. Hopeful that updates will arive soon to fix these bugs.
Well done...but
I would have given Truberbrook a 5 star. Neat plot, creative puzzles and beautiful scenary. Well done! However, mouse motions on Mac Catalina 10.15.4 with 16 GB DDR4 in too many scenes were very slow which was very annoying. So annoying that I'm not sure I'd buy another game from Headup GmbH. Alot of "automatic" saves which was refreshing. Several scenes...I wish I had the option saving. (Hint for improvement). You guys are definitely on the right track, please improve
