Knotwords is a minimal and elegant logic puzzle — with words. The rules are simple: arrange the letters in each section so every word is valid, across and down. Each puzzle may seem difficult at first — but like all my favorite newspaper puzzles, it gets easier as you progress. Each step guides you naturally towards the solution. This is the kind of game I've been trying to make my whole career — I'm amazed Jack and I discovered this design. More crashes over time
I have streaks in the daily games of over 700 days in a row; I loved playing this game and engaging my brain. However, over time, the app lags or hangs on the first puzzle of the day, then crashes after finishing a puzzle. Since there are three dailies to play, that means restarting multiple times to keep my streaks alive. It’s become so frustrating that I’m giving up my streaks and removing the app. Too bad!

I have enjoyed knotwords for nearly two years, and have written a glowing review here. A few past support issues were resolved promptly. As records and data built up, knotwords became increasingly less stable, with frequent hangs and crashes. It is now all crashes all the time. My records have diappeared, and the crashes are far too frequent for usability. Starting several months ago, I have been in contact with the developers about the issue. It affects not only me, but also a friend who has the app on a different kind of apple device. As time has worn on with the issue unresolved, the developers have gone silent. Alas, my only remaining option is to delete the app. I may start over again from scratch, but the psychic rewards are gone.

I love this game and have been playing it daily for basically two years now. If you like crosswords but struggle with the cryptic clues, check this game out! Basically, anything by Zach Gage is guaranteed to twist your expectations in a fun new way, and I eagerly await every release. Also, the share function that creates a gif of my progress (or struggle) is hilarious and even better to share when it’s awful than when it’s great. 😅 I’ve got a couple of small quality of life improvements I’d like to see, but will still gladly play for years to come! Loading puzzles seems to take a while, and randomly stall for a moment early in the first puzzle. I’d like a way to migrate my progress to Knotwords+ so that I can get the hidden achievements without starting over Some of the puzzle book categories get very repetitive, like the flower and clothing and transportation categories. However, I love the short words and vowel puzzles and wish there were more. When browsing the archive, I’d love a button that takes you instantly to your newest incomplete puzzle, so I don’t have to scroll past 36 months of finished puzzles to find the next one.

I really enjoy this game. It's a good puzzle game that works your mind enough to be enjoyable but not super frustrating. I've gotten all 79 achievements and had a 650+ streak in all 3 puzzle categories. The app itself keeps getting worse as time goes by. It freezes constantly. It crashes constantly. I've had it crash on a number of occasions after completing the puzzle and not saving, forcing me to redo the puzzle I ended up deleting it today. After it freezing for 3 minutes in the middle of playing. It's gotten so bad that it really ruins the joy of playing. I believe the app is in maintenance mode, so don't expect the developer to fix anything.

It’s the same thing plenty of other people complained about. This game freezes for long periods of time, then crashes. I literally couldn’t play it anymore, and had to give up my 650+ day streak to delete the app and reinstall it over what is probably an easy thing for the developer to fix. Will a one-star review get the developer’s attention, or is he too busy sending secret invites to Puzzmo or whatever new thing he’s moved on to? Not that it matters, I guess. If you do see this, why not do something about the unpredictable UI that doesn’t even cycle through all the available spaces? Or whatever it is that drains the battery worse than watching a two-hour movie?
