You are balanced on the edge of a cliff in an old rusting car. The sun is setting behind the horizon and night will soon fall. With no immediate means of escape, perhaps all that's left is to attempt to feel some connection with the world at the end of it all. Far from Noise is a story told through dialogue choices. As day fades to night, experience quiet moments of interaction with a variety of creatures and witness the transformative forces of nature as they happen around you. Through conversation with a welcome companion, begin to discover your reasons for being out there, your relationship with the world, life and death, and if you'll see tomorrow. Includes - A dynamic, naturally flowing conversation - Multiple endings driven by choices that shape the narrative - An original musical score by Geoff Lentin that flows with the story - A rich landscape that shifts and fades as time progresses - Narrative events that change with multiple playthroughs
Gorgeous
What a beautiful story. I very much loved this game, very relaxing and calming. The one thing I wish it had was opposing dialogues though, a lot of what the character dialogue choices meant the same thing. Which is probably staying true to the character but doesn’t give much creative liberty to the person putting themselves in the characters shoes. For instance I would have continued to stargazing scene for longer. Or with the badger, it was a good lesson, I just wish the character would have fully been able to change her mind about the badger. Great game though, beautiful art and a nice pace. It was nice how we could pause the game.
Beautiful and Healing
Enjoyed the story line and lessons within.
Great game!
Love this game! Been playing it on and off throughout the pandemic, okay mostly not playing it, though I have a game on my phone and another on my iPad for the subtle differences. It’s a great distraction and I feel a little bit better after 15 minutes or so.
Not much to it
Not much of a story. If you like a lot of pseudo-philosophical interactions, think Star Wars Jedi type stuff, then this is the app for you. Many adventure story apps use visual and written media to tell a story and allow the user to interact. This doesn’t. Single scene. Rudimentary graphics. Dialog balloons. No real advancement of a story. Same ocean background sound the whole time too. Really not much here. Too bad because the description makes it seem like it will be thought provoking and interesting. It is neither. It also is a major battery drain for some reason. It pulls current like no other app I have seen. And it isn’t even a fast action game with physics. Severely overpriced for what it is.
This game gave me an existential crisis
Got free therapy from a deer who cured my depression. Thanks
Too slow, even for a narrative game
I usually love narrative games, but this was like listening to a long monologue about existence from someone who loves the sound of their own voice with no opportunity to contribute to the narrative. The protagonist dialog choices were all throw-away lines, so the point really does seem to be to read someone else's stream of consciousness writing. And after half an hour of playing it, I don't feel like anything developed or moved forward. It gets two stars for being really pretty, and for being a neat idea that was just poorly executed in my opinion.
A game I’ll always remember
What a wonderful experience, very deep and thoughtful, I only wish it would last longer, but that is a non issue. Buy this game and reward yourself... memorable for sure ...
Fixed some layout things relating to iPhone X.
