Too much Pressuse
Great mechanics with the presentation. Hate that everything is timed even the online matches no ability to set up untimed matches. Would like to turn off move hints on the puzzle features to learn. Would rather learn from puzzles could take or leave the costumes and pets.

A few times I’ve been playing a game against the computer and had to stop for some reason. If I use my iPhone for something else in the meantime, like taking a video, and go back to the chess app the animated Arcade screen does its thing and the game I was playing is gone. It goes to the Home Screen of the app and there seems to be no way to get back to the game I was playing. Particularly annoying when the game is going well. Also, if you’ve begun a game and neither side has moved and you change your mind to play a different set of options you lose the game.

This game hasn’t received an update in 3 months, which is fine, but this game only takes 3 months to make anyway: There are limited assets, which are all non-animated sprites, which is what makes the game pretty unique from other chess apps (why not just use Chess.com, and maintain a global rating, like a normal online chess player). For an Apple Arcade app, I do expect their apps to put in some effort; that is, because you have the privilege of being an exclusive to a ~very small set of games, available on the most popular smartphone in the states. This project is regular chess: it has a great chess bot implementation, it has fun puzzles, it has a reward system— It is still one of the laziest looking projects I’ve ever seen, and probably the laziest on Apple Arcade. They didn’t have to invent new code— all of this technology exists. The only reason to pick this game; the only difference between it and Chess.com, is the sprites— which they hardly update: They are still using the Pet from Spring 2023 Grandmaster Championship (that shows me when they last updated that particular sprite— but they did add a little bit more after that). If you’re going to have a game on Apple Arcade, take pride in it! You really are so lucky Please update your app more
