Long ago, the kingdom of Lantarna prospered from the blessings of a white comet that passed overhead. The art of harnessing the comet's blessings was called alchemy, and the practitioners of this art were known as alchemists.
However, when the comet disappeared and its blessings were no longer available, the use of alchemy gradually declined and was eventually forgotten.
Many years have passed, and in a corner of Lantarna two girls have a fateful meeting.
One is Resna, who has found hope in alchemy and is on her way to the Capital, aiming to travel to the World’s End where the source of the miracle is said to lie.
The other is Valeria, a girl who has lost her memories and now lives in the city while doing rough work as an adventurer for the Moonlight Society.
Behind them looms the shadow of the group known as the Polar Night Alchemists, a dark organization shrouded in mystery.
With different motives and ambitions intertwined, the two eventually come closer to the truth that lies dormant on the continent.

I can’t speak for any of the other games that are a part of this series, but I found this game to be relatively uninteresting. The combat system is pretty lackluster, and it feels like it’s just setting up to be a grindfest in late game. The gacha rates were fine. The story lost my attention pretty early on because of how much it just…dawdled? Like, nothing was happening. It was just characters going from point A to Point B and chatting about very uninteresting things. There was nothing in the story that pulled me into the world or got me emotionally invested in the characters, which I feel like should be one of the first things you do at the start of the story. It feels like it’s just relying on the other titles to make the player care. That being said, I can admire the quality of the 3D animations and how polished the game and ui look overall. But in general the game hasn’t been able to hold my attention for more than 10 minutes at a time.

They did my boy Vayne dirty. Being a protagonist with a terrible kit. And holy * $40 for a ten pull. I know the game was put a lot of effort on the art but thats just straight robbery and ridiculous. Other than that the game is fun. This game is just for whales. Not even dolphins are welcome. Edit: Lost interest on the game. Im only getting memorias and no characters. I hit a wall. Im progressing at a very slow speed. I just enter, make dailies and exit. I got so many ssr memorias and no characters to put them. Im out.

This game is a great gacha game, though it’s not a game that will replace smash-hit gacha games like Genshin Impact and Fate Grand Order. Play it for what it is - and if you want more of the same gameplay without the gacha system, there is a Atelier title out there to try. Go play Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists - the game is on Steam & Nintendo Switch. The gameplay resource loop Atelier Resna has is basically taken from Nelke, with Nelke using its materials to build up a town whereas Resna uses its materials to make your characters stronger to progress in the storyline. Just note that this version is 4 months behind the original Japanese version currently- with certain game characters/memoria missing due to the two differing game calendars (JP will have a number of characters & memoria that won’t be available to EN for several months due to being locked behind Holiday events.) That said, because EN is behind, it’s easier to know when a new meta character will be coming. In terms of your wallet - it is on the more expensive side as a 10-pull will cost ~$20USD. There is also no pity system - only a shard system that requires a lot of pulls before you get enough shards to get Characters via the shard shop.
