New problems
I thought this app would be a disruption in a good way. However, it is evolving in a way that is disappointing. You could previously order farm direct produce. That’s gone. Which is huge. At least for us. It was the primary reason for shopping the app. Everything else here can be found elsewhere, though possibly not from the specific makers they have. They do have many. Most items are now shipping, though they were not shipped for almost a month. The most recent order I made was cancelled today after I asked if it was on the way. First of all, I should have the option for a reschedule. I think they didn’t want me to have it because I bought it at a sale price. Most items I have not received were items on sale. I know this item comes from another country so it would be less predictable for shipping on time. Which is fine. But I should have had my order rescheduled instead of canceled. We were really looking forward to the order we had made. My dad recently came home from a skilled nursing facility and I had ordered some food for his return. It’s been an especially hard few months and nice things help ameliorate the stress and pain of his illness. He needs things to look forward to. And it upsets me when I can’t give him what I wanted to. I do really like the people on the app and the products they still have are good. The app is pretty easy to use and it is fun seeing what other people are making. Going through posts of a specific product page can help you make your own creative meals. It really is a great way to work out of a rut. I have a tendency to eat the same things until I am sick of them. So this is great. Many good ideas abound here. And like I said the people are pretty wonderful. One issue they desperately need to fix is the layout and functionality of the schedule of your orders. You can make orders 3 or 4 weeks out. Which is pretty great. Doing all my grocery shopping for the month by getting my reasonably priced staples (the produce mystery box is wonderful when the farms are online), along with a few nice indulgence items is a fine thing. So efficient. Although I will say some of the things on this app are either cruel or unsustainable or both. Caviar is one of the most cruel foods. Sturgeon have been around since at least the late Creataceous and we humans make them live in horrible conditions and then take the potential offspring of all the females. We have no idea what they are. But our hubris allows us to believe they are defined by us instead of having ontologies of their own. And they certainly do, having been on this planet millions of years before us. Don’t get me started on how eating octopus is horrifying. They are very intelligent. Anyway, the issues plaguing this app are keeping it from really being a disrupter. It really could be. I hope they can fix it.

Up until they moved locations this was a fine app - glitchy at times but quick service and clear communications. Since their move they have been anything but. I would not recommend this to anyone. They will attempt to give you credits for their mistakes so they do not have to refund your money.

I stumbled upon this app from a few food influencers I follow and I have never been happier since getting it. Wasn’t expecting much but I impulse bought some things and each became a hit at my house. I live with quite a few people of varying ages and while I was the only person waiting for my first box, now the whole family’s waiting for the next box (I’ve ordered 4 times in just a little over a month). There are some bugs I wish could be fixed (the orchard turns into a creepypasta if I open it too fast), but it’s introduced us to quite a range of items from popcorn, sodas, mushroom coffee, to so much more. When something was wrong with my box, customer service responded in less than a minute and resolved the issue (shoutout to Kemal!). I cannot recommend this app enough if they service your area! I do wish they also collected packaging in my area but I really have nothing but glee when it comes to this app. I’m quite addicted to social media but the first week I got this app it shot up to number one in screen time because I was having such a fun time looking at all their options, not even accessing the social media part of this app 🤣. Really! Get this app!!
