I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE IMPORTANT THINGS FOR LEARNING :(

I have to pay for actually “learning how to code” Is it so hard to be free and give out actual knowledge like Khan academy? Which, by the way also teaches coding. -10/10

Please fix it!!!

Today I faced a problem when I took a course on CSS, it was a lesson about Borders. When I clicked on the practical task, I got a common.no-connection-message error. I tried to fix it somehow, I even reinstalled the application, but the problem remained. I can't move on in the course because of this, and if it's not fixed, it won't make sense to do it in this application anymore.(

Some courses are written better than others

SoloLearn’s courses vary in quality as they are probably made by different course designers. For example, I think the C++ and Python Core courses are well written, sufficiently detailed, and decently challenging. Their lessons are more comprehensive and the questions they ask you throughout each module are challenging enough to make you apply the knowledge you just learned. Also the coding challenges in these courses are more challenging and make you write code from scratch, which help you learn the lesson’s concepts and syntax better. On the other hand, some courses such as Introduction to Java, Introduction to JavaScript, and Intermediate Java (which seem to be made by the same course designer), are written way too simplistically and barely offer any challenge or learning at all. The course designer seemed to try and write the lesson explanations to be as short and bare bones as possible and the questions they ask you throughout are trivially easy, asking extremely simple vocabulary multiple choice questions or fill in the blank questions from a word bank. In these courses, some of the “coding challenges” are a joke and may only require you to write one simple line of code under a commented line while the rest of the program is filled in for you. They are not challenging enough to make you problem solve or apply the lesson concepts in a way that deepen your knowledge and understanding of the material. Overall, SoloLearn is great as a supplementary learning resource you can use while on the go and the UI and code editor are very clean and easy to use. I just wish the quality in terms of lesson depth and challenge were more consistent across the different courses as I feel like it would help users learn better. I would rank the C++ and Python Core courses a 4-5 star while the other courses such as Introduction to Java and Introduction to JavaScript are more like a 2-3 star.

Have no prior coding experience

The devs did a pretty good job at making the learning aspect fun! I’m started my learning journey with Python and it did a really great job at explaining it/teaching it. ps It is operated by AI I think

Pretty great

I’ve been coding for seven years plus years and just downloaded this app, and I still love it. The best part of this app is the challenge game mode. It’s a great way to learn new things really fast. The rounds take 2.5 minutes, and after the other person goes, you can see what you got right or wrong. I wish that you could see what you did right or wrong right after you go, instead of having to wait for the other person, but it’s still fine. This app has quite a few languages you can learn the basics of, and it’s really nice. Right now I’m learning basic Java, and it teaches in a nice leisurely way. The lessons range from one to three questions, and they’re really short which I like. If you like coding already, or would like to learn, this is a great app to download.
