The pangaea app dynamically shows the breakup of the supercontinent Pangaea and the positions of the continents over the last 200 million years on a 3D globe. Significant events are indicated on the globe at the time of the event (millions of years ago). Tapping an event provides information about that event, certain events have an illustration with additional information. Latitude and longitude (of the center of the display), time in Ma (millions of years ago), and geologic time period and epoch are continuously displayed. Drag the slider to move through time. Tap the arrow buttons at the ends of the slider to move one step at a time. Tap the background of the slider to jump to a time. Drag the globe left and right or up and down to rotate it. Pinch the globe to enlarge it. Illustrated by Dennis Tasa. The modern shapes of the continents are retained throughout time to help identify them. No longer works
I really enjoyed using all of the Tass Graphics apps until now. Most have been dropped and this one doesn’t work with the recent IOS. It can be downloaded but there is no map or effects. The comments post but the screen is blank. The company has disappeared. Don’t bother with it unless you have an old IOS.
DOESNT WORK
I've been conned out of a dollar! Apple.com, this app doesn't work!
Needs update
I can’t contact the developer but his app needs to be updated right now, it is totally broke.
Not working
I bought this app and used it twice. I tried to use it again under iOS 15 and it just keeps on reporting webContent error:could not initialize shades. Don’t know what to do with that.
Reunite Pangaea!
This is a great way to understand the key concept of Deep Time. Textbooks can’t show how continents move as passengers of plate tectonics. Now you can see it and assemble or break up the supercontinents. Have fun while learning the Geologic Timescale. Invest in several apps and you will see geology come alive!
It’s nice
I really like it but the only problem is it keeps crashing
Great app for Plate Tectonics!
I love this app! I have it loaded on my class iPods for Earth Science. The students love being able to pull apart and ram the continents together. It really helps them see Continental Drift.
Universal app, portrait and landscape support, 3D globe, pinch-zoom globe, tap events to view details, and a geologic time scale slider.
