This new generation FlyGo training system brings you all IFR essentials in 1 App: procedure simulator, HSI, RMI, VOR-ILS avionics trainer, holding pattern secrets & more. Flying by instrument flight rules (IFR) is not an easy task for student pilots. With IFR Pack aviation students and pilots will develop and improve their instrument navigation understanding and accuracy. The 'step by step' system will teach you how to use IFR instruments. FLYGO INSTRUCTOR: This app provides users an interactive learning system that shows the „FlyGo way” of learning. Our IFR simulator helps students to learn IFR flying while instructors can use it for educational purposes as putting theoretical knowledge into practice. Our education materials includes exercises, animations as well as explanations. With the exception of Holding Trainer, all training modules contains a ’Try what you learned’ part which enables users to practice with simulator. MAIN FEATURES The aim of this app is to collect the most important procedures of IFR flying and make it available for students to extend their knowledge. Thus, we grouped those features into 5 categories: - Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) + Radio Magnetic Indicator (RMI) Instructor - VHF Omni Directional Range (VOR) + Instrument Landing System (ILS) Instructor - Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI) Instructor - Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) Simulator - Holding Pattern Instructor 1) ADF + RMI INSTRUCTOR (FREE) This module provides a comprehensive overview of controls, symbols and names of these aviation instruments through interactive learning materials developed specially for smart devices. Once it's finished you can try out what you have learnt in four different practice scenarios. 2) VOR + ILS INSTRUCTOR The „Easy to learn” module introduces you into the theoretical part of VOR + ILS with explanationsand animations. These learning materials consist of controls, OBS (Omni Bearing Indicator), CDI (Course Deviation Indicator), TO-FROM indicators and ILS . This module also lets users to practice in a built-in simulator with different premade situations. 3) HSI INSTRUCTOR This instrument combines a heading indicator with a VHF omni directional range-instrument landing system (VOR-ILS) display. Firstly, this module introduces you into the HSI basics (how it combines the directional gyro and VOR + ILS) and describes how the compass card rotates according to the aircraft’s present heading. 4) IFR SIMULATOR IFR Flight Trainer Simulator is a well-designed instrument procedure trainer for every AVIATION PILOTS, both newbie, doing his initial nav training and experienced avionics captain. But it also a good tool if you are about to acquire an IR (Instrument Rating) or just brush up your IFR skills. - heading control / (directional gyro) - speed control - course selector - extra aircraft instruments: VOR, ADF, RMI, HSI, EHSI, DME - radial help - standard and non-standard holding patterns - hide mode - random location change - IFR cockpit - course selector, OBS, CDI - task mode (instrument approach - ready to fly) - wind simulation - runway mode - trace mode 5) HOLDING PATTERN INSTRUCTOR Holding Pattern (IFR) Instructor is specially made for IFR pilots and students to better understand how to manage holdings as one of the most complex IFR procedures. This app provides significant insights into holding procedures as an educational method with explanations and visual illustrations. Thus, our app helps to understand more easily how to join and follow hold entries including direct entry, parallel entry and teardrop entry. --- FOR STUDENTS We wish good luck for the preparation and for the examination! FOR INSTRUCTORS We hope that you will find useful our educational app and it helps your students better understand IFR flying situations! Enjoy the app & FLY SAFE! The FlyGo-Aviation Team
Pay $33 to be nagged for a review every 5 questions!
You get so far in then you get nagged to review the app! How about taking your nag screens and shove them! When I get to all the features THEN ask me for a review! Not 10 minutes into the software! If I could rate it lower I would!
Buyer Beware!
Purchased an all-in one upgrade after viewing never ending in-game popup advertisements. Payment was accepted through the Apple Store over two weeks ago and I still do not have access.
Not happy
Bought the app a few days ago to aid with my IFR training. For the price tag of USD38 this app doesn’t seem to offer much value. There are no instructions whatsoever on how to get the most out of it. And the HSI doesn’t simulate what’s used in flight. I’m struggling to get value out of it. Would like a refund!
Simulator hold is in the opposite direction
Hold should be given radial but the simulator sets course to the fix. I do not want to practice with this…
Add MORE things!
It’s simple but great! This helps me visualize and practice some of the things that are hardest for me: holds and NDBs. 1 error I found - in the “HSI Basics” section it says that each mark represents 0.5deg of course deviation. That is only true for the ILS. For VORs, it is 2deg per mark. This is correct in other areas. The only recommendation is that you should add MORE features. Specifically, more things that mimic the things you see on real approach plates. Some ideas: A “fake approach plate”, allowing the player to brief the approach first would be great. IAF, FAF to a missed approach would all be great. Sound - there is NO sound. You can have engine noise depending on soles, you can have real sounds for flying over markers, etc. Randomize button randomizes more things - wind, holds, procedure turns, runways aren’t randomized by the randomize button. It would be great to hit “randomize” and then you have to figure out the winds from how the aircraft is behaving. Missed approaches - allow for a holding pattern after the runway, not just before Beacon colors - the color colors for the NDBs are purple and light blue and roughly correspond to the outer marker and middle marker (maybe the IM if you want to be REALLY fancy). These should be dark blue and orange instead (white for IM). Add the correct sounds for more realism. DME arcs - allow it to be run with both the RMI and VOR to practice the “turn 10, twist 10” rule Procedure turns - you can kind of do this now, but it could be more explicit. Localizer backcourse - show the difference between reverse sensing with the VORs, but correct display when an HSI is set correctly. Default speed of 150 knots - who’s flying all these Cat D aircraft on these approaches? You can set up an approach, but it’s kinda a pain right now even if you know what you’re doing. The randomize button should create a DME arc or procedure turn to a final approach course that is aligned with OM and MM and the MM should be aligned with the approach course. Approach plate symbology - adding more symbols would be great. Harder to do: I realize this is a 2d to down simulator, but anything to do an actual approach would be nice. Centering the needles on an ILS or practicing a step down approach down to missed would be great.
Holding pattern trainer is incomplete
If you're trying to learn holding patterns, save your $6 and try a different app. This one teaches only one weird method of determining the entry, although there are several widely-used methods. Worst of all, the app doesn't give you the ATC clearance like you will hear in flight. It gives you the inbound course - ATC will give you the radial to hold on, which is your outbound course. The pilot will need to determine the inbound course. Absolutely overpriced and incomplete. Save your money and try the other app out there.
For a six years hold
When paying this amount of money for an app, you would expect a little more detail explanation, a little bit more satisfaction with the controls. All and all it has the feel like it was done by a very young inexperienced developer and when that is the case they shouldn’t charge so much money. SUPER DISAPPOINTED!!!
This update contains several bug fixes and performance improvements. Enjoy the latest and greatest version of our app.
