A must buy for training
I used this app to brush up on my private pilot, mainly used it for my instrument rating. I love how there’s video content to go along with the questions and then at the end you take a mock written and then the mock oral. The mock oral was so much help! Instead of answer multiple choice questions, I was able to get good at just answering questions being asked. On 4/11/24, I aced my instrument checkride. I was so stressed out about the oral portion, but as we got into it, I was able to answer everything comfortably. Thank you “The Finer Points” for making a wonderful study tool. To Future Pilots, you won’t regret this buy.

I’ve done three online ground schools just because I wanted to see the different approaches. Not to take away anything from the others, but this is by far the best, most highly produced and informative of the three. It’s so good that I have maintained my subscription for three years and go back regularly to try to stay on top of my game. whether you are an aspiring pilot or a high time pilot, this app is worth your investment. No question. I consider it an essential part of my ongoing training.

Just got back from taking my FAA written exam and felt compelled to leave a review after scoring a 93%. This app has been a major part of my aviation journey for about a year now. I don't care if other programs are out there, I have no reason to even consider a different one.

I’m very pleased with The Finer Points experience. I did traditional ground school and used this app to supplement my study. I just took my PAR and aced it and I attribute my success in large part to this app. Simply put, the best feature of this app is the “Learn more” button on every question, even on practice exams during review. For those questions you missed, it gives an explanation about the correct answer and is usually backed up with references. This combined with the spaced repetition review gives the user a solid foundation on aviation principles. On the topic of practice exams, a significant advantage of this app is the ability to review previous exams, which again gives you a better understanding via the aforementioned “Learn more” button. I know the Prepware app for the PAR doesn’t do this. The ability to save old exams makes it easier to review questions and form a study plan around those you missed. I would highly recommend this app. My only hope is the recently released instrument course is as comprehensive and easy to use as the private was.

I have absolutely loved this ground school. Jason has such an excellent way of explaining things. I’m thankful he also puts the material in the course to read as well! If I could afford to live in CA, I’d only consider him as my CFI
