Toggl Track is a desktop app for leading time tracking tool Toggl. The Desktop app is a great companion for time tracking and productivity as it has advanced features like: - Idle detection - Tracking reminder - Pomodoro timer - Timeline - Autotracker It also supports keyboard shortcuts, has a menubar widget and works great offline.
Best free capabilities for single contractor
I've tried several of these apps and there is always something missing from the free version that I'd like to have. I've yet to find anything lacking with Toggl though. Toggl's UI is a bit confounding at first and I am still struggling with it 3 weeks in, but at least it has all the capability I need to track my project time.
Update 6/2022: app won't open
After the update in June 2022, the app won't open at all. When I click on it on my Mac, a problem report opens up and won't allow me to access the actual app. :( I use Toggl for my business daily and now I don't have the app I rely on. :(
Loses my hours tracked
Syncing between Mac and Iphone app does not work. I get emails that my timer has been running for hours, but when I open my app there's no timer running. It has lost hours of my tracked time because of this. Unreliable
Pretty strong app, better than others
Would love a way to see tags in list view without having to click on each project.
Just what I want
I was compelled to give this app 5 stars becasue I use it on the daily, it never gives me problems, I can organize what I do into categories and more. PLUS I wanted to stop using my phone so much so I got this app on my Mac to do just that. Great UIm, fluid app and looking forward to more great things with Toggl.
Works for me
I haven't had any problems with the app. Works for me. It would be better if it supported the M1 natively. I'm sure it will be updated at some point.
GREAT SERVICE, Annoying app
The service is great, the iOS app is a bit better than this one, and the mac app is straight up annoying. I love the service they provide, but the app on the Mac often bugs out when manually moving things around, misclicks makes random time entries pop up, trying to adjust time entries is annoying because there's a 50% chance that you will actually drag the ends to adjust the time, and a 50% chance that you will grab the entire entry even though you clicked the end. Also sometimes dragging an entry's endpoints leads to some random time entry from the beginning of the day to be grabbed, so I have to mannually fix it. Also the syncing between the phone app and the mac app isn't the greatest and can get annoying, because if I started tracking an entry on my phone, the mac app won't update even after hitting sync unless I open up the phone app to get it to update.
