Playback feature on app is bad
Cameras are great. Watching live on the app is great. But when it comes to accessing playback on the app it is awful. Unable to move forward or back. Please fix.
Absolute horrible app
The reason why you buy cameras is so that you are able to see what’s going on outside without going outside. Whether it’s a good thing outside or a terrible thing, you’re definitely not going to see it on this app because it never works. So if you’re using the cameras for safety reasons…you’re screwed
Doesn’t work like it should
It needs an update or something the app is not showing or won’t connect to your phone right away like it should. The app needs a new version or an update. It’s horrible having this problem

04/03/2024 Several weeks ago push notifications have stopped working. Only live feed now. 🤯 app needs updated for new iOS *************************** 8/20/2021 Finally fixed. In case you haven’t visited help section you must unplug and restart DVR to fix app connection issue. 8/17/2021 App AGAIN not connecting for days now. Useless if I cannot monitor cameras away from home. 😡 11/17/2020 This is my most used app and the most inconsistent app. Developers- PLEASE UPDATE YOUR APP ALREADY. Can’t you see from the reviews how unhappy your customers are? I am again getting no connection to my cameras when trying to view remotely. I have 200+ MPs on my WiFi and excellent Phone service so please don’t blame my end. My cameras are useless hardware if I cannot view when away from home. I would NOT recommend to anyone unless app is updated. 😡 10/21/2020 App is “mostly” working now. I still cannot give app more than 3 stars. First, it needs COMPLETELY updated - terrible UI. Second, as another reviewer mentioned, only about 1/3 videos are reviewable for playback. Third, developers need to do more than canned responses. Fourth, they should have been ready for iOS update and had app ready so it didn’t fail. What good is our home security system if we cannot monitor it when away? What will happen with new iOS and iPhone 12? Is Night Owl ready for that? Apple releases beta versions to app developers !! ———————————————————— Night Owl X app still will not work outside of WiFi. What good is app if I can’t monitor cameras away from home ?? First - developers, come on already and FIX YOUR APP !!!! Second - I cannot believe how bad your customer service is. I have sent 2 emails with no response. I spent over an hour on the phone waiting only to be disconnected. Then I spent another half hour on chat (36 in queue line) to them be immediately disconnected. This only fixes WiFi settings... If Night Owl X app is not working after updating to IOS 14... Go to settings - Night Owl X Turn ON “Allow Access” to “Local Network” This fixed my issue with the app not working after iOS 14 update ************************************** After 1.5 hours on the phone and 2 Night Owl tech support specialists - I found out that the firmware update caused my modem to close the port that the security system uses. There is no way to change the IP address or undo the update. I am now spending another hour + on the phone with my service provider in the hopes they can open up the port to allow the Night Owl access out and access to the app 😡 9/11/2020 APP NOT WORKING AFTER FIRMWARE UPDATE I did a firmware update and now I cannot connect from the app. I have logged out and back in. I have cleared data and cache as I have seen from developer’s responses in other replies. I will call customer service when I get time and update my response when app is fixed and working properly. ⭐️UPDATE⭐️ Live view now working foe iOS 13. Thank you for fixing. Like many users, I rely on this app DAILY! PRIOR REVIEW This app had been working on my iPhone X; however, nothing will load on new iPhone 11 with iOS 13 😢
App no good
I have an iPhone and this app does not work well at all. Why even make an app for the system if it never works right. The app is useless. Would give zero stars if allowed.
Terrible customer support
Night owl has basically abandoned there customers. Says in the box 24 hour support. They will not help people with certain models.
My notifications are stop working
I have night owl for few years and all of the sudden it stops give me the notifications. I deleted the app and reinstalled but it is still not working and I when on google and searching for helps and I followed the instructions what to do but recommendations are not even in the setting section. So what is up with this??
Webster’s Dictionary defines “Compatibility” as being capable of cross-fertilizing freely or uniting vegetatively. That, of course, does not apply to this App. After further research, I discovered that it also means designed to work with another device or system without modification. That does apply to this App. Night Owl X is now compatible with iOS 13. WooHoo! Secure. Protect. Connect.
