Change the reason for denial 3 times after each excuse was disproven.
Been with CarShield since Jan. 2019. (Now May 2024). Never used it. Maintained my vehicle completely-every oil change, every manufacturer mileage requirement. Go to the groc. store Sunday night, come out of store, start it up and the check engine light comes on, nothing seems different on the drive home. Then Monday morning 7am, I’m sitting in line at the dealership to find out what’s up. Turns out the air injection system was stuck open. Dealership said it would cost $4000 to fix it. They called CarShield for me. CarShield asked for photos, cause, and service record. Then denied the claim due to rust. My truck is 11 yrs old, in a photo they saw some rust and said “failure due to rust is not covered”. The service guy explained this rust was on the outside not the internal parts. So they said okay then what’s the failure due to—he explained the part failed “due to age” and proceeded to tell him this is a known item to fail, and an extended warranty was given for 10 yrs/150,000 miles, but improvements to the design had been made. So they denied it because I should have taken care of it. But what the service guy failed to mention was it was only for yr models 2007-2010. So I had to call CarShield back and explain it, and beg them to reopen the claim. THE ANSWER GIVEN TO ME WAS “WELL EVEN IF WE WERE TO REOPEN IT, YOU STILL DROVE IT AFTER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAN ON, SO THE CLAIM IS DENIED.” They said I should have had it towed.
Trying to be a customer again
I called Car Shield on third of April. I was expecting them when they said I have 28 days to be registered. I have the app the app keeps saying to update go to the App Store to update it. It doesn’t say update on the App Store shows that I am not covered and I paid $100, so I don’t know why it takes so long to become covered and it takes seconds to take my money off my card……

They are good but i had to contact the bbb on them last yr for my transmission to be rebuilt that’s what we posing for but i got the app just started a new contract on a new honda and on the app 27 days later i I’m not even pending coverage

They won’t do much for your car at all. It’s a rip off totally!!! I do my own maintenance on my car cause you can’t afford to take it to a Audi dealer. Keep that same money they charge you and do it yourself!!

Mobile app
They said they fix the mobile app problem of signing in and seeing your contract. It’s been over two months. Still nothing.
Fixed some bugs and added some performance and UX enhancements.
