Recent updates have made it worse
Used to be usable, though the UI was not very intuitive Now a multitude of issues following a recent update I have to log-in every time I open the App and select the school (phone will not remember login so I have to type it out in full every time) Tells me when logging in to create a 4-digit inactivity PIN. When I try to do this it will not accept the confirmation entry of my PIN (I honestly can remember 4 numbers I just entered!) and the only way out of that screen is to close the App and start again Now I can’t open pdf attachments from the App, so can no longer read the school newsletter Nothing to prevent my partner and I accidentally paying for the same event for the same child twice, so the school gets a double payment Honestly, I only use this App because the school insists on using this service. Wouldn’t choose to use it, and it has definitely deteriorated rather than improved

The payment system is dreadful, it freezes and makes it impossible to pay all the time. Messages get deleted randomly which might still be needed for information. Yet it’s impossible to delete messages you no longer need, making it hard to find important info in a sea of messages. It’s not possible to star messages. For some reason there are two message threads so you have to switch back and forth trying to find what you need. You have to remember to check the app for messages instead of just having them emailed to you. It’s not practical for busy parents to have to remember to check another app every day. If you are a school considering getting School Ping please don’t! There are much better systems out there.

The app is telling me i have 4 unread messages however they are over a year old. When i click to read them they don’t stay as read messages it goes back to unread. Please fix?

I have to go in to the app regularly to check if there are any new notifications otherwise I’ll miss something important. It’s not just me, many parents have the same issue and seems to be IOS specifically and perhaps where 2 parents have the app/login?

Only good enough for the bin. Why do i constantly have to login to the app. Why can’t I stay logged in. It seems quite a simple thing to achieve.

The whole app is clunky at best. The main thing that is really annoying is the fact you have to open every notification, even if you know what it says.. Then you can’t delete messages, leaving you with a massive long list and loads of notifications showing!!!
