Superb
Great, easy, and does what its says on the time easy App to use and that’s coming from a 58 year old.
Great as long as you don’t have two cars
Great as long as you don’t have two cars . We have an ev and a plug in hybrid and you can’t swap easily between the two . Needs you to be able to save your cars in the app .

Hardware is great, software needs some work. It’s frustrating that the unit can’t read car’s state of charge and therefore work out charging time. Audi API is hopeless so I was expecting the Ohme toolset to work around this, a high speed DC charger can read my car SOC, why not this? I would like to be able to set the ‘goal’ charge level (90%) and rely on Ohme talking to Octopus to determine when it will charge at 7.5p or less with an endpoint of my commute time 0630. That way it doesn’t matter which car I plug in. I also want a 1,2,3,4 hour boost button so as to be able to top up a visiting car without it buggering up my normal schedule. Occasionally I find the car charging at peak cost rate when Octopus haven’t dropped the price?!
Bugs
Still a few bugs causing sleepless nights to check that low cost overnight charging is happening. If you have 2 electric vehicles charging on alternate nights changing vehicle on the app is clunky and could be easily replaced with a drop down menu of owners vehicles. We persevere
Ohme
Seems to be a very weak app. Hope they sort it soon.
Charger constantly needs rebooting
Had the charger 2 weeks, and have had to reboot at least every other day since for it reconnect. App is OK when the charger is online but useless when offline and no use in getting the charger back online. I should have saved a few hundred quid and got a dumb charger as I can see that will be the way I’ll be using the Ohme. Tech support just says to reboot but no help in working out the route cause of the charger dropping offline. Not impressed and cannot recommend.
Poor design and UI
The app is a good idea to control your charger but it’s poor design and limited options mean I’m losing a lot of sleep to just charge my car in cheaper hours. Nothing automatically works. It gives you a false sense that it does but it doesn’t. For example the price cap option doesn’t auto start charging. The deleted time for charging doesn’t auto work. Overall I think it was a poor development effort and it seems like a mvp was made to push out the door asap without any real user test.
We’ve made a few small fixes and improvements, as we continue working hard on making the Ohme experience better. Happy charging!
