Asda made shopping in-store even easier with Scan & Go, now we’ve brought it straight to your own mobile. With this app you can do the same as you can with our in-store scanners but straight from your own device. This means you don’t have to sign-in and pick up a scanner at the scanner wall, you can get straight into your shop and continue packing as you go, managing your budget and saving time at the self-checkout. How does it work: * Download the Scan & Go app to your device * Register with your name, email and password…or sign in if you already have an account * No need to collect a scanner in-store * Scan items through the app as you put them straight in your trolley * No need to un-pack and re-pack at the till * Head to the self-checkouts to pay Available at all Asda supermarkets and superstores
Waste of time
It was a busy shop today, so we tried this app. After scanning everything and getting to the till we were referred for an accuracy check. No problem, I've had this in other shops. The issue is that if you leave the app on that screen for too long it wipes all of your shopping, so we ended up going to a normal till anyway. Pointless and frustrating.
Awful
Despite ensuring I had scanned all the items in my trolley for the second week running I was selected for a quality check and had to get a full scan of my shopping as it came up an item hadn’t been scanned. At the end it said there was a over £80 worth of shopping that hadn’t been scanned when I know for certain ALL the items had been. You should not have an app for people to use that is not reliable. Awful shopping experience due to this!
Pointless quality checks
I usually pop into Asda for a newspaper on Sundays and use Scan and Go for quickness (haha!). For the last two weeks I have had a quality check for my solitary purchase of a newspaper. This is annoying enough but made more so because the staff in the area never have a scanner at 10 am on a Sunday morning and a ten minute wait always ensues whilst they find one. What a waste of time!
Disappointed
The latest update has removed a very useful tool. Before the update you could search for an item and the app would tell you what aisle it was in. Very useful as saves looking for staff to ask. Why Asda removed this function is beyond me.
Asda shopping
One of the worst shopping experiences i ever had.
Unusable while listening to audiobooks
Apart from occasional bugs that keep dragging you back to the “start shopping” screen, this app mostly lets you shop in peace. That is unless you want to listen to an audiobook while you shop. The beep it makes when you scan things pauses the book and it doesn’t resume afterwards. This happens whether you have sounds muted or not. Having to keep manually resuming the audiobook is infuriating. If I’m shopping on my own, I just use the tills instead of dealing with this.
Getting worse
This app is buggy as a tramps vest It really needs a complete overhaul. And while they’re at it combine all three asda apps in to one.
Thanks for using Scan & Go! This release contains some bug fixes.
