Serious privacy concerns!
Why does this app need constant access to location data? I opened the app after the Jan 1st update and a message popped up telling me it looked like I had been recording a route. I tried to save it but the app got stuck in a never ending save. I restarted the app and more routes appears from the last couple of months, none could be saved. The record button is still faded out. If the app has this ability why can’t we use it? Way points and routes need to be saveable so it doesn’t need to be reentered every time.
Inappropriate collection of data
While this app is very finicky to use as others have commented my main concern is it’s inappropriate collection of data. It will not work unless you set location tracking to ‘always’. I think this totally unnecessary and therefore probably a breach of privacy regulations in different regions which in simple terms state that only necessary information should be used by developers. The app should only need location information ‘while in use’. There is no need for Royal Enfield to collect location information about me when I am not using their app. Additionally the link to the privacy statement directs you to their website privacy statement which is irrelevant to this app. All in all this is pretty sloppy development and misuse of collection of personal information from a company that is otherwise doing great things.
Waste
Can’t log in, clock function on bike is wrong, but can’t log in to app correct it. Can’t navigate if can’t log in. A waste of space on both bike and phone
Saving location data without our knowledge?
I opened the app after the Jan 1st update and a message popped up telling me it looked like I had been recording a route. I tried to save it but the app got stuck in a never ending save. I restarted the app and more routes appears from the last couple of months, none could be saved. The record button is still faded out. If the app has this ability why can’t we use it? Way points and routes need to be saveable so it doesn’t need to be reentered every time.
Finally useful!
It’s only taken a couple of years but RE have finally turned this app and the tripper into something useful. It’s still missing the option to save routes but at least now it has a user interface that makes sense and can actually navigate without showing a spinning compass the whole time. More stars if they add the save option.
Doesn’t work
The tripper is rubbish, wish they’d just put a tachometer on the bike instead
Not working at all.
Destinations won’t load when trying to input. Constantly on loading screen. Tried multiple times with no fixes. Really disappointed as it’s a feature that really sold me on the bike
