After that is the towering Chapel of the Holy Cross, followed by the trail for Cathedral Rock, Sedona’s most famous formation.

Along the way, you’ll hear about the early days of the Colorado River, when it was just a meandering river on a floodplain. As you walk, you’ll learn how that floodplain became a soaring plateau, and how that event created Horseshoe Bend.

You’ll also get details about how this land passed from the Navajo to the USA.
