Android M and later
As of Android M Google added that when requesting the opening of an App for the first time, it lets you choose "only this time" or "always" to set the app as default you must select "Always". Make sure the application is established.

As of Android M, there is a section for managing predetermined applications, although it is still difficult to access.
Use the Go Default Apps Settings menu to directly open the Default Apps window.

Very useful app, however lacking the ability to select your own default apps for which ever category as needed is really handicapping this softwares true capabilities.
Quick access
It's a great idea for an app if only it worked. Allows one to see apps but doesn't let you select them as default making it useless. Running Android 13.
If it's crashing on launch after upgrading, try completely uninstalling before reinstalling.

As much as this is useful it is limited...i want to be able to choose default apps depending on category, so currently even at discounted price it is not worth keeping it...maybe once those issues are fixed it will be worth the price it is on sale for now
