Sleepio is an online sleep improvement program proven to help you clear your mind, get better sleep, and have better days.
Sleepio isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. It incorporates your unique needs to create a personalized six-week program that you complete at your own pace. Each session builds on the last, guiding you step-by-step through methods proven to help you quiet your racing mind, reshape your behaviors, and get better sleep — all in about 20 minutes per week.
The program uses cognitive behavioral techniques that are backed by decades of clinical research, and has undergone more testing than some of the most common sleep medications. In 12 randomized controlled trials with over 13,000 people, Sleepio was proven to help participants fall asleep 54% faster, spend 62% less time awake at night, and have 45% better functioning the next day. You’ll have access to all of this clinical evidence from directly within the app.

“The most effective, long-term solution for poor sleep is a cognitive and behavioral approach, which addresses the mental and behavioral parts of the individual's sleep pattern,” shared Professor Espie. “These approaches help the person to think and behave differently in relation to their sleep, which encourages good sleep to return. Sleepio is a clinically proven digital sleep improvement program that uses cognitive and behavioral techniques to help users with persistent sleep problems.”

Terrible experience. It says it's free through the NHS, but trying to login and you have to enter a 6 digit code from a text message. When you go to your text message, the url disappears. I managed a work around it, but then got an error message. I also hugely disagree that apps are forced on patients by their gp. Not everyone likes tech or apps. Also, I've read online it costs £45. That is exorbitant for something which might not work, plus during a cost of living crisis.
I am so glad I found this. I've had awful sleep for more years than I can remember, phases of insomnia normally trigger with anxiety and I end up with 1 hour sleep a night. But now even when I feel ok I'm still struggling badly to sleep etc. This app has given me hope, I love the videos, I love how you can sync with your Fitbit to collect sleep data rather than having to remember. I tried a few exercises tonight and I am amazed. I have no doubt I am finally going have a good sleep. Thank you!
Very bad, only NHS members can use this app!!
waste of time This app synced to my fitbit, it confirmed that my sleep was interrupted and poor however this app reported that I was doing great and had an improvement. Utter guff, can only imagine there's some target they are trying to reach. The patronising voice and cartoons are aimed at perhaps a group that I can't think of. Don't waste your time as you can't get it back
I have noticed improvement in my sleep quality. Using a sleep mask and earplugs certainly helps. There were certain instructions that I felt reluctant to try. Any email I sent asking for help was answered promptly and in a helpful way.
Terrible experience. Sleepio measures success by how little time you spend awake in bed. It doesn't matter how long you actually sleep, or how many times you wake up through the night. After five weeks of filling in sleep diaries, following this app didn't help me in the slightest, and instead only made me more stressed.
Doesn't take into account ADHD that can affect sleep, just CBT based.
Thank you for using Sleepio. We update our app regularly. This release includes recent bug fixes and performance improvements.
