Rebound is the holding of a ball in the air without a basket after hitting the basketball hoop and spinning in the air. 

There are two types of rebounds; The first rebound is the Defensive Rebound and the second is the Offensive Rebound. 

Defensive Rebound is when a person rebounds from their own basket. Offensive Rebound is to rebound from the opposing team's basket. 

In basketball matches, the points scored and blocks scored by the player, as well as rebounds taken by the player are also kept statistically. The NBA maintains a list of players who have 40 or more rebounds in a game.
