I have never left a review on a product in my life, but this one is good enough for me to break my record. This is the best app I have encountered for intermediate-level Japanese learning, the stories are perfectly designed to introduce you to grammar & vocabulary and reinforce them. The explanations are clear and natural and so easy to understand. My understanding of the language is skyrocketing. This app is a miracle.
Incredible. Quite possibly the most valuable Japanese learning resource out there. Incredibly thorough, incredibly well executed. If you're going to spend money on just one thing to help you learn Japanese, it needs to be this. The absolute only critique I have is that maybe there should be an option to sort stories by estimated JLPT level, since that's how most people structure their learning, but I understand why that may not be possible or even desirable.
One of the best tools I've come across at my stage of self-taught Japanese (Note: this app seems best for late beginners and beyond, if you're just starting out I highly recommend JapanesePod101 on YouTube) My understanding/reading comprehension practically skyrocketed after starting Satori, and that's just through the free version! I'll definitely pay for it when I can! The best part is the ability to click on any word and get an immediate explanation, can't recommend enough!
Imo by far the best reading practice app, if you have pro. Amazing usability, very good translation and explanation, no out context dictionary lookups.
what's the point of this? I wanted an app to practice reading, but all I saw was it reading to me. I don't need listening practice, I need reading and vocab practice. Should be called Satori listener.
Probably one of my absolute favorite resources for learning Japanese. The stories are interesting, I love how absolutely everything is explained and in a clear manner as well, and the voice acting is both lovely and helpful.
I love this app, and have been using it for years. The stories are fun and engaging, and the ability to click on words to see their translations, or play the audio of either specific sentences or the entire chapter, are super useful. It also lets you easily create flashcards with spaced repetition reviewing, and some stories have both simple and advanced versions. It gives context and explanation for grammar and word usage in translations. Thank you to all who worked on it!
