Monitor, download, share or send your weather data to the cloud from your Kestrel Instruments environment meter or data logger.
Absolutely works on 2022 M2 MBP
This app may not be configured to work on a MBP but it has for more than a year for me. You just need to remember that you must verify that the settings that you want the download data to reflect MUST in the Kestrel unit BEFORE syncing.
They broke it and fixed it!
The app was buggy to start with. Now with the update, it won’t log at all. My Drop is now useless since the only way to use it is through the app. I wasted my money. NOT HAPPY ! ! Good work! This is a follow up to my earlier review. The new revision fixed my logging problem. Gave you five stars for excellent customer support!

Update broke the app
The latest update 12/7/23 causes the app to freeze and crash
Needs more work
This app is extremely buggy. It crashes while downloading data, it randomly stops downloading, says it has never downloaded data then does, says it has downloaded complete to a certain date when in fact it hasn’t. I use about 100 of these sensors for environmental research and I experience problems with them about 80% of the time. Absolutely would not recommend the DROP product.
Clunky app, hobbles good hardware
App needs more work. My drip never seems to connect automatically, and most times I have to sync the logs manually. Even though I’m in the same house as the drop all the time, usually the same room (it hangs under a crib), I always need to reconnect. A watch complication would be nice with a reading and time since last update. Then at a glance I could see temp of the drop and that it’s been, say, 4m since the last update. I’ve also experienced an issue where I open the app and all my data is gone, it was like opening the app for the first time, that was super frustrating the first time it happened. It’s happened again, I’m tempted to blame the fact that I’m on beta software for the problem, but not sure why that would cause the issue in their app.
A slight improvement over the original app
This app which supports the Kestrel Drop, a solid albeit imperfect product, is an improvement over its predecessor as it provides a look back at calendar day readings. I could be wrong but one thing I do not see that it’s predecessor had was the ability to manually reset the log so one could get the high and low readings for a specific time period, for my purposes, a calendar month. If this is in fact the case, it represents a major shortcoming in my opinion.
