Browse earthquakes in the past 24 hours or past 30 days in map mode or data feed mode. Use the slider to quickly filter earthquakes by magnitude. Get push notifications for earthquakes globally or at up to four custom specific locations. For each location you choose to monitor, you set the cutoff magnitude and radius. These earthquake notifications have a built-in epicenter map on iOS and watchOS. Tap a notification in the iOS Notification Center to jump to the detailed view for that earthquake. Set a custom location in feed mode to find the closest recent earthquakes to that location and to populate distances for all earthquakes relative to the custom location. Tap on an earthquake to show more details including depth and "Felt By" numbers. Drilling into a specific earthquake also reveals options to: 1. jump to the USGS event webpage 2. plot cities near the epicenter with their populations Also included: - A Today View Widget for quick access to earthquakes in the past hour. Tap an earthquake from this table to jump to its specific page in the app. - A watchOS app for access to the past hour of earthquakes, including zoomable maps, "Felt By" numbers, and depths. - 3D touch the app icon to bypass the main app menu in convenient ways. A Recent Earthquake News section: find news from 1,600+ cited sources quickly on a map or in a table view tagged by state alphabetically. Set up your own custom state feed with the state toggles. Please read the App Help File for more specific usage information. All data is from the USGS (United States Geological Survey). Very good!
If you want a high quality earthquake app, this is it!
Pretty Nice App
Very good!
Can't remove ads!
App listing says there is an IAP to remove the ads for $1.99, but in the app it says "no longer available". Very unethical, and deleted.
Very Accurate App
I live in Yuma, AZ. M 4.2 - 9km NNW of Delta, B.C., MX 2018-09-29 02:17:48 UTC 32.423°N 115.238°W 11.7 km depth I felt this earthquake tonight and this App reported the earthquake 3 minutes later. You are not going to get any fast response than that. This app has a very special feature that allows me to set the area where my daughter lives and know if there is an earthquake there long before there is any notification on the news or on the internet.
App Versions, updating
Good App works pretty well but today there was a 5.3 Earthquake in Southern California ( date: 04-05-2018). It seemed the update was a bit slow but the 5.3 did show up on the page of daily Earthquakes. I’m not sure why the update was so slow. Also would you consider doing an Android version of this app if possible.
Keeps bothering me for nothing
I set it to "alert quakes stronger than mag 6" and "limit to near my location". HOWEVER, it keeps bothering me of mag 4 quakes in Puerto Rico. I'm in Hawaii, so that's about 6,000 miles away, almost halfway around the world!
Great start
I have been using this app, along with two others, for six days. Of these, this app seems to have the most reasonable default notification settings - moderate quakes near me, and major quakes worldwide. Other apps alert me to minor quakes worldwide (alert overload) and imperceptible quakes near me, and want me to make in-app-purchases (IAP) to change the settings. Unfortunately, many quakes have the Possible Tsunami tag line added, unnecessary. I'm pretty sure a 4.1 quake is hardly likely of triggering even the most localized of tsunamis…
- Earthquake notifications for up to four custom specific locations are now free and available to all users. - macOS version of Earthquake Monitor with no earthquake notifications is now available! View maps and data feeds.
