Breathable is a simple, friendly Air Quality Index (AQI) widget for all of your devices, with support for iOS, iPadOS, watchOS and macOS. Air quality has become an increasing concern for many people around the globe. While stressing about it constantly isn't necessarily helpful, the goal of the Breathable widget is to provide a quick, glanceable answer to a new daily question: Is it safe to go outside? Breathable can use AQI data from two services: IQAir.com and, optionally, AirNow.gov (in the USA). Both of these services offer free accounts and API access for personal use. Breathable uses the United States Air Quality Index for all values world-wide. AQI is based on latitude and longitude coordinates and Breathable makes it simple to find coordinates for any area using device's current location, or by selecting a place on the world map. You can also search by postal code, place name, or partial or full address. Coordinates are only used to request AQI data and are never shared with Karbon or any other third-parties. Customize how your widgets look by changing fonts, showing or hiding various bits of information, or by using Breathable's Emoji Scale to soften the reality of the smoky air around you. Customize Emoji Scale using one of our provided sets or choose your own emoji for each scale value! Simply create your free API account, set your location, configure your widget, and add it to your device. Optionally, sync your API keys to iCloud to enable one-time API setup across all of your devices. We wish Breathable didn't need to exist. Climate change is real and devastating, and we don't have much time left to stop it from becoming irreversible. Read. Get involved. Let's protect our planet and ourselves. Perfect for local air quality
Does exactly what I want - shows local air quality in my widgets. Working perfectly for over a year.
No longer works on iPhone or watch
I’m made sure it has a location and the api is current. I’ve reloaded and restarted. It’s always blank now. What happened? If the app is broken say so in the App Store at least.
The app does not update frequently enough
I was looking forward to using a modern iOS widget for air quality, but this app does not update frequently enough. I am still running the old-style AirVisual widget near the Breathable widget and that widget is always up to date with the latest air quality number. I have to force-quit Breathable to make it update. Please fix this.
Works great
Does exactly what I want. That you can customize the appearance is a nice bonus.
Not working
This app was amazing but no longer works.
Broken on Ventura
Was nice while it worked but it hasn't been updated in over a year and does not work at all on Ventura on my M2 Air.
Great for anyone who wants to monitor AQ in a single location
This is an ideal use of a widget: putting vital air quality information that’s available but not easily accessible and putting it just a swipe away. However, it doesn’t help people who need to follow air quality in multiple locations. I need to monitor AQ in three locations (vulnerable family members), and it defeats the purpose of having a widget to have to go into the app to change the location every time I want to check a different location. Would love to see an update with the option of multiple locations.
• Fixed an issue where the “use pure black in dark mode” setting made dark mode widgets permanently pure black, even if you toggled the setting off. This fix required resetting that UI preference, but it works correctly now you can can toggle it again if you’d like! • Fixed an issue where you couldn’t clear an API key if it was invalid if iCloud syncing was enabled for Breathable Recently, in versions 2.0 and 2.1
