Snippets don't work

The help file is pretty lacking for this app. I had to scour the internet (and there's not much info) to figure out how to create snippets. Basically highlight text, and drag to the folder revealed at Open Folder In Finder option to create a snippet. It shows up fine in the Snippets menu after that, but when clicking the snippet in a text document, nothing happens. So basically whats left is a list version of OSX's Launcher.

Closest thing to the Classic Apple Menu on OSX

This is very handy, simple, helpful, free. It has the hierarchical menus that you can access from the top menu bar in the Finder. My favorite is the customizable (user defined) menu - that's what I use to keep regularly used folder, document/template items, and regularly used applications in. There is also a handy snippets feature. (Read through the description and the preferences pane after you install this app for more details.) To use the hierarchical menu(s), just click on the menu bar icon, and whatever you've put/set up in there is accessible within 1 click, and/or can be quickly and simply accessed by navigating hierarchical menu(s). I am one of those people who believe that the user interface in the old pre-OSX Finder was better designed and easier to use. The Dock is no replacement for the good old Apple Menu. This simple, free app returns some of that "navigability" functionailty back to OSX. This app is absolutely brilliant and super useful to have - it makes the Finder better. This functionality should actually be built into Mac OSX itself. Only improvements would be to have the option to add more to the custom menu, e.g., recent docs, recent apps, recent folders, etc. Or an option to show an application switcher menu (list of running apps) - like the old Finder had. Anyway, thank you DEVONtechnologies very much for your work and for making this excellent little app available, and for free!

Great

Great lightweight application from a time when people made quality software. I have it point to a directory with app shortcuts categorized into subfolders. I gave the subfolders 16x16 icons, and they display perfectly in XMenu.

Still the best

Been using this since it was released. Simply the best menu bar app out there. Simple, efficient. No fancy stuff, no bloated stuff. Apps need to be simple and easy to use like this again. Too much overpriced bloat ware out there, and now developers are trying to get you to pay weekly, monthly, or annually to use their product. Whatever happened to shareware, or try full features before you buy? Keep it like this app. Don't change.

Works exactly as I needed it to

This app works exactly as I need for quickly accessing my deeper folders. An excellent replacement for my previously used 32 bit Classic Menu app. XMenu has a feature that makes this superior to PMenu or CustomMenu. XMenu has the ability to treat Folder Aliases as the original folders instead of merely an alias. XMenu does this right!
