I don’t know what’s going on with there software team at Vuzix but this new update is the most worst update ever. I have been using the Vuzix blade 1.5 upgraded version and one refurbished one as well for two years now with no problems whatsoever now that I have purchased another one, due to the fact, that one of my Vuzix blades was destroyed for reasons, unknown . As soon as I tried to pair the new refurbish, Vuzix blade 1.5, I started having problems after updating to this Companion app. If by chance you have the older version of the Companion app, I suggest you do not update to this one at all. Good UI and simple setup but buggy with phone
It’s a nice UI with simple to use setup and interface. However functionality is impacted with Bluetooth issues that break notifications from the phone once the device reboots or you toggle the Bluetooth receiver on/off. Furthermore for the sort period that notifications work you can’t use the glasses as a Bluetooth headset for phone calls. It will pay media audio fine but no phone call. Actually got it to work once while trying to troubleshoot by removing and repairing the glasses with Bluetooth. When it worked I was able to control the phone (end call) via the Home Screen notification and use the glasses as my headset. Never got it to work again, even after complete restore of glasses and application. If this issue is resolved then it would be a great product! Fingers crossed that this will be addressed soon
Good app but some issues
Connectivity seems to break if you previously had a wifi connection configured in the Blades OS beforehand, notifications don’t work properly either. It’s a good app for managing files and app installs for the glasses!

It takes you hours to type in a wifi password and the touch part dosent work 1/10. for this to be 2,067$ I except a refund.
Doesn’t pair
It keeps not letting me do anything since it says it’s not paired with the glasses but it says it’s paired on the glasses but the app keeps telling me it’s not paired
Connectivity issues
The pairing loses connection even though the glasses say it is connected the app says it is not. When it is connected and paired, it is a matter of time before it doesn’t work again. Even un pairing from the app and from Bluetooth and starting over doesn’t always work. Takes a few times to get it working. Also it would be nice if the glasses worked just using Bluetooth through the app. Instead, you can’t use google assistant or the app while just connected to the Bluetooth. It is useless without WiFi, which is a shame because it should be able to use the phone to just get info like map directions. Why does it need its own WiFi connection?
