Trust & Safety in the palm of your hand. • Input & Inspect. It's really that simple. Input a domain or IP address using the TLS Inspector app, or inspect any website from within your favourite browser using our Inspect Website extension. • No Nonsense Results. "At a glance" has never been easier. TLS Inspector will show you the entire issue chain for any website, and whether or not your device trusts that chain. • Dive Deep. Details for days. View important properties of any TLS certificate including fingerprints, dates, algorithms, and more. • Stay Safe Online. No training required. TLS Inspector makes it easy to detect and avoid man-in-the-middle attacks on unsafe networks by highlighting invalid and untrustworthy certificates. • Right Place, Right Time. Inspect nearly anything from anywhere. Easily access TLS Inspector from other apps, such as Safari, with the Show Certificates share sheet action. TLS Inspector is free & libre open source software (FLOSS) with source code available on GitHub.
Would have been six stars
I wanted to add an extra star for fixing the bug where the passenger door kept falling off.
Great app but get error messages lately.
This is a great app the allows you to view a website’s security certificate and I think this ability should be built in to safari but for some reason it’s not. But lately every time I try to check for certificate bundle updates I get the error message “failed to securely check for TLS bundle updates please check for pending updates for TLS inspector in the AppStore.” but currently their are no app updates available on the AppStore so I really hope this issue is fixed soon.
Clever implementation tool for iOS
I lived too long without a direct cert tool. This was the answer. TLS 1.3 support pushed this over the top. Outstanding ease of use and small footprint. Others would do well to take notice of this developer.
🔏Must Have essential security aid for iOS (UPDATE)
I downloaded This tool years ago and it’s been on all my devices- testing and personal- as an essential web tool, especially these days with web apps being everywhere. It’s helped me trace down all sorts of inconsistencies, unexpected behavior, and hands down shady stuff… all through the iOS share sheet! From simple double checks out of safety, to hunting down a rotten CA issue this app never fails. Thank you to the dev for keeping it updated and for designing such a great tool. Wish I wrote this 4 years ago when I starting using this! UPDATE: It’s been a few years and this app has grown to something better than I ever expected. This dev KNOWS certs. I mean, really knows. This isn’t just some easily coded generic utility tool app. You won’t find any other cert apps anywhere near as advanced as this.
Amazing
Using “Google” chrome browser which sometimes a “Website” have a warning Icon on my “address” which technically says the website Protection “outdated”…This “app” on the other helps me check out (inform) what “security” issues this website having (like “dollar general” store, a website legit but their security protection is a bit outdated).
Fantastic
I'd been battling some issues with SSL server certs working on Windows but not on IOS. Apples messages were totally useless in diagnosing. This tool on the other hand instantly diagnoses the issues.
Great app, works very well but why blocking VPN connection
Great app to check TLS certificates! 5 star functionality, however I don’t understand why specifically block from looking up when VPN is on, in order to debug a certificate under proxy environment, have to turn off VPN, look up once so it show up in recent lookups, connect VPN back and tap the recent lookup entry (it will work this way), huge inconvenience! I remember it used to work well, not sure if there is a way to fix that!
Thanks for using TLS Inspector! Due to the complexity of supporting it, we're deprecating the legacy Apple network engine (based on SecureTransport). In the next major update, TLS Inspector will remove this engine entirely, and users will automatically be migrated to the modern Apple network engine (based on the Network framework). OpenSSL remains supported. • Show extra extensions on certificates. Supports strings, booleans, integers, and dates. • Added warning about upcoming deprecation of legacy Apple network engine. • Improved messaging for when a HTTPS proxy is enabled. • Some very minor UI polish. • Fixed a bug where a passenger door could come off unexpectedly.
