The app is used to set up and configurate the physical Sofabaton remote. The app uses Bluetooth signal to communicate with the Sofabaton remote control, giving access to the full database of IR code for home entertainment devices, such as TV's, SoundBar's, DVD's, etc. Devices can be set up by searching online IR code database or directly learning from original physical remotes. The app also gives you access to customizable functionalities such as assigning unique keys to certain buttons on the Sofabaton remote or creating macro key sequences so that you can enjoy the convenience of achieving certain activities by simply pressing one button. Features: -Online access to cloud-based database of Infrared Device -Universal search by device brand or type -Automatic setup on the Sofabaton remote using Bluetooth technology -Support both IR and Bluetooth remote protocol -Requires a Bluetooth Smart capable phone
Remote skips
There is something wrong with either the App or the remote. It is jumping or skipping menus even though I have only pushed the button once. Also tried returning and getting a replacement remote but the problem persist
Big fail
This app and its associated hardware completely fails to learn anything from other remotes. It never acknowledges that a signal is being beamed to it.
This is usable now.
I have the latest version after having a Master remote and losing access to the software (because they are A holes) I tried the last version of the SofaBaton X1. It was a nice piece of hardware but the software was terrible. I couldn’t even get the remote learning to work and I couldn’t figure out any workarounds so sent it back to Amazon. This one he X1S learns from old remotes, downloads the database of commands for equipment you have and has a pretty intuitive way of entering in commands to make activities. It’s a simple setup but can pull off some pretty complex startups. I’m enjoying it so far. Being able to enter the set up on your phone and syncing to the device is nice. It still doesn’t replace my PS3 remote which is a bummer because I still use it to watch Blu-ray’s. The ps3 will time out before the baton syncs with it. The trigger functions don’t work when you are in activity programing mode. But so far those are the only gripes I have. All in all a nice little remote.
Perfect
App works perfectly, negative reviews are the technically challenged. Love how you can remap buttons to whatever! Glad they support my outdated Emotiva XDA-2.
Proper Harmony replacement
Had Logitech and then Harmony remotes for a few years. My last one lasted almost 8 years until the battery wouldn’t hold a charge for more than one night and the hub kept losing connectivity. Wasn’t going to shell out $300+ on a savant remote that I wouldn’t be able to install or buy directly. Didn’t want to buy another Harmony. Found Sofabaton after an extensive and exhaustive search. Was a little apprehensive about the the way the UI looked. Bought it and after a few hiccups it’s worked flawlessly. Repeater on tv and receiver always send snd receive signal. Occasionally I lose signal from the remote but if I open the app it helps to recover the connection. That happens perhaps once every 6 months or so. Top notch replacement for the Harmony Elite.
Needs scroll to top feature
Need ability to scroll from bottom top/rollover ability for x1 pls
Pretty good
The app takes a little bit of working with to finally get the remote set up correctly but it’s way better than the abandoned, logitech harmony remotes. I do feel like there’s room here for improvement so I took off one star, but I was able to successfully set up the remote and control on my devices. Overall very happy!
