Still terrible
Folks this is one of the worst apps for home solar. The graph scale defaults to 500kWh which is grid-level production. Trying to change the scale requires a succession of pinching motions and takes forever, and then of course you can only see 1 hour of production on screen once you have the y-axis scale correct. You guys have all the data, it’s shown on the web site. Total fail converting to an app. Makes me wish I didn’t have a SMA inverter when I see the apps your competitors are providing….

The SMA Energy app offers fantastic insights into my solar energy production, allowing me to track and monitor it with ease. It's been a game-changer in helping me stay informed about my energy usage. However, there's one significant hiccup: the time zone setting. Despite my efforts to adjust it, the app consistently displays my energy production from 4 PM to 3 AM the next day, which doesn't align with my actual time zone. It's frustrating because accurate time tracking is crucial for managing energy consumption effectively. I hope the developers address this issue soon, as it would greatly enhance the app's functionality and user experience. Overall, though, I'm pleased with the app's performance and eagerly await the fix for the time zone glitch.

Whenever I look at this app to see how my system is working there is never any info. It's always at least a few days behind of not an entire week. I wish there was another app to use.

Somewhere in early 2024 the app added a graphic about power going between panels, grid, home, and battery. This would be great if it actually worked, but instead everything is “zero” values… very frustrating since the solar production seemingly worked for 6 years.

App visuals are better than before, and ‘live’ energy flow diagram is cool….BUT still wayyy behind what folks expect - add some new features (grid outage, System health checks, EV chargers, etc) monthly and fast!

I have been using this app since I had my solar array installed in August of ‘22. It does allow me to monitor the production of my panels and I am mostly pleased with that function. It is however very slow to update and start up a lot of the time. I can only assume this is owing to the company servers being located solely in Germany while I live in Texas. That issue I could honestly be OK with - I don’t have to check the panels often, but I do keep an eye on them. My main issue is that on their most recent update, it says they have ‘updated the login process’, but as far as I can tell, all they did was remove the ability to login using FaceID. I would have thought they would add functionality, not remove it. This further compounds the duration it takes for me to check my panels, making it doubly inconvenient.
