Download the RightTrack app – a safe driving tool brought to you by Liberty Mutual. At Liberty Mutual, we believe safe drivers should pay less for their insurance. That’s why we offer RightTrack, a 90-day program that lets customers with safe driving habits save up to 30% on their insurance. As you drive around, the RightTrack app will evaluate four key safe driving habits (fast acceleration, hard braking, miles driven and late-night driving) to determine how much you can save with RightTrack. The more safe miles you drive, the bigger your savings. Depending on your state, the RightTrack app may record your trips on its own, or work in conjunction with a small RightTrack Tag device that sticks on your car windshield. RightTrack needs to access your location so that it can still capture your trips when the app is closed. This trip data is used to calculate your discount and show you trip maps. To sign up, you can contact your local Liberty Mutual office, call our toll free number at 1-800-837-5254, or get an online quote first at www.libertymutual.com/auto-insurance. If you’ve already enrolled, simply download the app and register to complete the set up process and start driving your way to a lower premium. Liberty Stands With You. *Please note: the RightTrack app is currently only available in select states.
NOT ACCURATE
I’ve been using it for a month now and I been driving very good and when I select to confirm the trip it confirms it but it says I wasn’t the driver so u get no discount if your not the driver and I selected I was the driver I guess they do it to save them money and make the consumer pay more to them
Don’t believe the hype
The app is very quirky. So sometimes it doesn’t even record the trips. The tracking itself is not accurate and penalizes you for being safe. Brake light on a yellow light and it will ding you for aggressive braking (it seems to want you to make a run for it to try to beat the red light…). Try to merge into traffic and it will ding you for acceleration (perhaps it would prefer you get rear ended). Leave you phone playing and streaming music and it will ding you for distractions… even if you never touch the phone. The worst part is that the savings you see are the ones they already “gave you”. So at the end of you run it will magically match you existing savings to the dollar…. Hmmm All faces on my dash page were top positive yet somehow that wasn’t good enough to get a discount….
Ok but needs improvement
RightTrack does the basic things right but it lacks context for its automatic rating system and, therefore, can’t be called great. Every time I hit my breaks because a car has cut me off (which is common where I live) the app will ding me for sudden breaking. When I accelerate to make a turn across oncoming traffic on a road which is not controlled by lights out a stop sign, the app will ding me for sudden acceleration. In both these instances, if I did not break or accelerate I most likely would not be around to write this review and neither would my kids. Maybe if they allowed drivers to add descriptions or select specific options for each driving report the app could start to take context into account?
False
The app detected multiple distractions on my phone and gave me a lower rating without me ever touching it. Need a new way to track distracted drivers because this app doesn’t work well.
Problems from the start
App would only work properly for about a week. Had to reinstall several times as per tech support. The app had issues with tracking both cars.
Right Track does put you on “The Right Track”
I’ve only been on this program for about 2 weeks but my driving habits have already changed very much. I initially started the program to help get some savings on my insurance rates. In the short 2 weeks I am much more aware of my speed while driving. I have not missed any event or appointment by following the posted speed limits. I am also seeing an increase in overall gas mileage. No more jack rabbit starts. My cellphone use while driving has almost dropped to 0%. Never realized how much of my time while driving had been done while being distracted. It’s made me aware how many drivers around me are distracted drivers. I think this is one of the best things insurance companies have done. Save money and be a safer driver is a (win-win) situation.
Right Track
The RightTrack app is great! It helps me make better driving decisions. And to drive without distractions! Thanks RightTrack!
