Description
Picture Finder by Photo Engine
The app makes it easy to search by image from a smartphone in different search engines.

You can use a picture to find related images from the web. Search using an image works best when the image is likely to show up in other places on the web. So you'll get more results for famous landmarks than you will for personal images like your latest family photo.

When you search with a picture, your results may include:
• Similar images
• The websites that contain these images
• Other sizes of the picture you searched with

You can search right from:
• «Photos» app
• Any browser: Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc.
• Any cloud storage: Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.

Subscription pricing and terms

Should have spelled out that this is a trial and then a monthly fee.

Ahhhh, surprise a monthly fee and the app does the same thing as several other free apps. Also yandex or google in a browser. If an app like this waned to charge a reasonable one time fee I would be all over it. Why can’t they just say “this is a trial and if you like it you will have to pay a monthly fee” before we waste our time.

Ceased functioning

This app used to work reasonably well (not great), but now it brings me to a page and error message stating that google image search is unavailable and to try again in several hours. Been receiving that message for many months now. Did the developer close up shop but forget to turn off the lights?

Dev is a lying amateur, app is a useless security risk

Another unnecessary, low-effort cash grab that introduces a privacy and security risk by standing in between your data and your browser. Author claims no personal data is being collected, but the ToS and privacy policy state he'll be using third party libs and api's he takes no responsibility for. So he's a liar. He also maintains the right to rip the app away at any time and for any reason while demanding you accept every update. Also whatever else is good for him and bad for you. They're horribly written and I don't imagine this 13 year old understands what is and isn't enforceable, but it's just more crap on top of hot trash. Use your browser.

Wayyy to pricy

I wanna give this app a five star review, as it’s the only reverse image search app with a good privacy policy. But it’s just wayyy to expensive for what it offers. I would pay like $5 maybe even $10 a year, but $3/month?? That’s insane. Idk what the developer was thinking.

Do not update! (update)

Response to developer I got the app on 28 july 2017 and it was on because I’ve only had one Apple ID & if even if it were then I wouldn’t be able to update the app since I would’ve had to sign in under the Apple ID I was sign in on when I got it. It also wouldn’t be listed in my purchase history if wasn’t this Apple ID and I tried to “restore the purchase” assuming since it not labeled it’s ↪️in the shopping cart but it didn’t work I also deleted and reinstalled the app. If you’re lucky enough to still be on version 1.2.3 then do yourself a favor and do not update to the “redesign”. Sure it’s slightly different. Its biggest new feature is that it now violates rules in the App Store. Rules that were put in place to try to prevent developers from exploiting their people. Like suddenly updating an app without informing the user that their app will now make the installed app essentially useless that is unless you wish to pay the developer more money even though you’ve not been given anything new. It’s funny some people clearly don’t read apples rules or don’t care that it says that if you’re going to make your app into a subscription service you’re supposed to make sure you’re actually giving the user a service worth what you’re charging them which hasn’t been done in fact the app was altered so people who made the mistake of trusting the developer have lost all functionality aside from one reverse image search every five days. This is exactly how you break the trust of the consumers. You don’t think it’s a big deal doing what you did to the app? Okay, then please Imagine if you will that you buy an iPhone from apple and a year later they release a redesign of iMessage making it look slightly different and maybe even run smoother and it’s not until you’ve installed the new iOS that you learn that the new updated iMessage cost money to use. I’m not talking about just the new features that apple added like say Memoji but the entire application has been essential been crippled only allowing you to send one message a week even though before updating you’d had the original working iMessage on your phone and it didn’t limit the messages you sent. Sure you could argue the new features could be behind a pay wall after all apple did create something new but what if there weren’t actually any new features just a different look? Is that okay? But again let’s not forget that nowhere in the notes does it say that the update will downgrade what you have already making it essentially worthless denying you all the information upfront prior to download so you could decide if the updated look was worth the app becoming useless unless you paid to use what you’ve already purchased. Is that fair? Right? Ethical? Legal? I guess we’ll have to ask apple. Trust I will be asking them too. The good news is however that even though apples updates include new bells and whistles they don’t cripple the ones on your phone and request payment to return functionality. Sadly the same can’t be said here. Yes app developers deserve to be paid for their work but if you have app that in the past 4 years has only had the most very basic updates so the app will function on the updated iOS only to now update and give nothing but new wrapping paper and not only ask for money but to disable that which is already on the phone is at best poor business & unethical and at worst a violation of App Store rules. Trust once broken can never be the same. You lost the trust of the users so you could make a few dollars. If you knew anything about ethics or better yet if knew anything about business you’d have kept the app as is however created a new version adding pro or plus into the title which you could’ve given a new look and now you could charge people for it and as time warrants add new features so as to make what you’re charging people for actually reflect the value of what you are offering. Meanwhile the original you discontinue updating it and even remove it so that it’s only available to those who have it already so they may continue to use it and you could then not issue updates and eventually it would either cease working due to not being compatible with a future iOS update or with image search platforms it uses on the web. So when the app stops working users who actually trust you would likely go and buy your new app. I know sounds like a lot of work but the thing about creating loyal customers is they’ll stick with you even when they can just use the Siri Shortcuts app and make their own reverse image search but you violate that trust and well bye Felicia.
