Description
Phonics Keyboard provides your child with a fun new way to learn phonics! It’s designed for children of all ages to help them associate letters with their phonic sound. Phonics Keyboard is a keyboard extension and game for the iPad and iPhone. Each key has familiar animal on it which begins with the same letter. Every time a key is pressed, the letter being typed is read aloud, using both its name and it’s phonics sound. The easily recognisable keyboard is great for learning to type and children love the different images on each key. Fun new games help your child learn phonics, spelling and typing. Celebrate achievements by collecting dino eggs. As your child becomes more confident you can adjust the difficulty level, keeping them engaged and challenged. It’s a great way to learn letter and phonics sounds while typing and having fun at the same time. Your child will hear the letters read by name (ay, bee, cee) and by phonics sound (ah, buh, cuh). This helps to establish a link between letters and their sounds and helps to advance reading and spelling skills. The app provides a choice of voices and varying difficulty levels. Choose from either a cheerful British or American children’s voices, both are available for free in the phonics keyboard settings. You can also choose the right level of difficulty for your child. As your child becomes more confident, you can adjust your settings to remove the images, or change the auditory support. Kids love the fun and engaging games in phonics keyboard. The games are based around the adventures of Dubdub, the friendly dinosaur, Learn to recognise the letters on keyboard one at a time. And progress in your bubble bursting game with Dubdub, the friendly dinosaur. Errorless learning with the right reinforcement for the game progress

Doesn’t work, don’t waste your money.
The keyboard doesn’t make any sound as you type. It also asks for full keyboard access, which is a security risk.

Looking to use along with an AAC app
Great start. Some nice features like changing background colors and selecting upper or lowercase letters or lowercase with symbol support. Also like the availability of UK and American English voices. I am wondering if a QWERTY option is in the works. I'm looking to use along with an AAC app to work on reading/phonics. Most kids are taught QWERTY orientation because that is the standard. If QWERTY becomes an option, this could really be stellar! Thanks and look forward to future updates.
