The Performance Index 64 app is designed to compare your Mac with other macOS devices and evaluate performance and efficiency of different configurations. Since we are talking about a 64-bit system, we took the very first 64-bit computer designed by Apple as a conventional unit - the legendary Power Mac G5 first introduced by Steve Jobs in June 2003. Powered by the PowerPC processors, the Power Mac G5 was so effective and energy efficient that in autumn 2003 a group of enthusiastic students introduced the System X supercomputer, combined with 1100 of such desktops. This supercomputer became a real technological breakthrough, taking third place in the TOP-500 rating. Nowadays, such a result would be impossible. If we would have combined a similar configuration of 1100 top 64-bit desktops, the resulting supercomputer wouldn’t even be included in the TOP-100 of the world ranking. With the help of our application you can find out how much of the legendary Power Mac G5 your Mac contains. Then, you can compare your Mac with the powerful Mac Pro powered by Intel and Macs with the new Apple M1 chip. Doesnt do much unless you subscribe. Big surprise ;)
Horrible business model!
I just wanted to see how much faster my new Studio was to my old iMacPro... If this is you: when it tells you this could take a long time depending on your configuration, DON'T click stop... let it run. That alert has no smarts behind it, and just always displays. Apparently after 3 times (trying to get a quicker test) i realized that's a dumb alert, and I ONLY GET 3 TESTS without paying. Additionally, as an Apple dev myself, i wonder WHY this app is 1GB? Took "forever" to install... Monthly? seriously? just do an unlimited simple tests and sell an IAP purchase for more complex. Really, how many people subscribe? or stay subscrubed? or, more than likely, accidently subscrube, win for you.
Stay Away
1G of stuff gets downloaded after you install. It does nothing but demand a subscription and can't be closed except with a force quit. If it's not malware it comes so close it might as well be.
Garbage fire!!!! scam
Won't open. just opens an ad that asks for money. not real. false advertising. avoid at all cost. scam
Yikes
Oh how I wish I'd read the reviews before installing Performance Index 64: Monitor. Apparently, The only way to close the app, short of paying for a monthly subscription service, is to Force-Quit it. According to the specs listed in the app store here, this app, courtesy of EKOKOMPYUTERS, AO, is supposed to take up a mere 687.5 MB. Say what, now? But the app actually took up a little over 1 GB on mine. I mean... why? Couldn't scrub my Mac of all traces of this app fast enough. But it was worth every one of those 15 or so minutes.
Don't waste your time.
Oh this app is sooo awful, I hope Apple delists it from the Mac app store it feels like and indian call center scam. No thank you!
As close to malware as I've seen yet...
Downloaded this and, like others, couldn't get past the ad demanding subscription. So I did a force-quit of the app. To my surprise (and anger) I used an uninstaller program to delete this app and discovered ... wait for it ... the app and all the cruft they installed was a WHOPPING 925 MBs!! No idea what kind of crap they're downloading, but this should be removed from the app store and pronto.
