An app that does what it says
In todays world of adware and all kind of pushy nonsense, this app simply does what it claims to do. A clean app with a neat interface - something that one doesn't often come across. Very happy.

United StatesDoesn't work reliably, but still convenient
Muteky is a great idea that doesn't work reliably. Many, many, many times, the status of the mic's input on mutekey will not match the status of the mic's input on apples system preferences panel. This means you might think you're muted, but you're not :-( Now the good thing is, a double toggle will always fix this - meaning if you want to be muted, and aren't sure if you are, just toggle off mute with mutekey, and then re-mute and that works 100% of the time. I give it 2 stars because the mic icon is super easy to get to, and for that I think it has some value, even though it's status isn't something you can depend on.

I really love this app, although it can become buggy when my bluetooth earbuds connect and disconnect. I really hope the developer can make the transition to Apple Silicon sometime as I really want to be able to use this app for years to come!

I had been loving this app and considering it a 5-star review. Recently, I had the experience that the menu bar icon showed MUTE status but people in the meeting requested I mute my mic. I had to re-start the program to get it working again. This kind of fault is not acceptable for a mic mute in today's increasingly remote-work based world.
