To understand this, let's understand how a SpeedTest app works. A speedtest uses a fake data file to send to an Internet service provider. It sends the file to measure the download or upload speed. But when it does this, the internet service provider cranks up the upload or download speed for your iPhone. Does your Internet service provider crank up the internet speed, when you are downloading a game or streaming music or video? Honestly, you wouldn't know, because SpeedTest doesn't measure the download or upload speed in real situation. SpeedTest app measures the internet speed when your internet service provider is using a fake file and is doing its best. Meter Robot does not use a fake data file. Instead, it measures your download speed, when you are using the internet. For example, Meter Robot measures your download speed when you are downloading a movie, a song, a game or an app. If you have a LTE connection, you can really see how well it does in real situation. If you have a Wi-FI AC connection, you can measure its upload or download speed performance too. It also counts how much LTE, 4G or 3G cellular data you used. Note: No account to sign up. All I can see this does is show data used. I don't see any way to test speeds. It's mostly lame.

Like the other reviewers. It took me a while to figure out the purpose of this app. But after fiddling with it for a few minute, I finally understood it. It is a mobile data usage tracker! Maybe it will perform speed tests as well while tracking your usage along the way but this is what the app seems to be for. Unlike the speed test app, this app does not allow you to test your speed. It will test your speed as you use your phone to do things in the Web. The bottom left of the screen allows you to specify what day you want the limits to be reset. You will set this to the exact same day your provider resets their bill. On the bottom right, you will set your monthly data limit using 1000mb = 1gb as a guide. I assume that the "meter" button at the bottom center of the screen will start showing some data as you use your data plan to do things in the Web, I think this is the speed test part of the app. If you tap on the big number at the top of the screen, you can override the actual value of how much you have actually used for the current period in relation to your specified monthly maximum that you have previously entered at the bottom right of the screen. The center circular button shows you the percentage of your usage in comparison to your limit. Anyway, this is really an app that I developed but am just trying to impart what I understood the app to be in the absence of the actual developer's user guide. Hope this helps!

Lots of numbers but nothing that makes much sense. No directions or metrics. The number that I think is the result can be changed manually? Thank god I didn't pay for this crap.

This might be a useful app. But from within the app itself there is no indication how to use it. I can't believe that Apple guidelines allow such an experience for users. Just poking around doesn't yield much useful results. Glad I got it for free. I went back and reread the description and it looks like I should run a data transfer of some kind and switch back to the app. But the places that a keypad show up don't make sense. I shouldn't have to go to the developer's website to figure out how to use this.

All I see is an indication that says 7.9 MB. What is this? It's not the data I've used according to the counter on my iPhone - that's much more. And where is the data speed indicator. Sorry, but without any instruction this app is useless.
