Easy to Use Robust
This is an excellent app with a clean interface. I especially like that it offers a setting to apply text replacement to Name Only, Name Extension, or Extension Only. Best of all, I received a prompt response when I reached out to the developer.
Does everything I need, easily. Great support!
I've been reviewing apps with functionality to easily edit filenames in large batches. Mass Rename does exactly what I need it to do. It's simple, straightforward, and easy to use. When I have questions regarding the app, I reach out to George for support, and he alway gets back to me the same day - usually within a short time of sending a message. I think this app and his support are excellent. I'd recommend this app over other better known app names.
Extremely slow
If you drag & drop ~ 100 files on the window it takes a good 5 minutes to fill the file list... disappointing
Useful, but too many dialogues
I use this to add status tags to file names. It does this well. I avoid worsening my rsi. But it has too many confirmation dialogues, and they can trigger my migraines.
OK, but could use a feature
It should have an “add extension” or “add text” function, I bought it thinking it did and then had to go and figure out the hard way that macOS has this already. At the very least, I still can use it for other things.
Doesn't read mp3 tags for naming by title
I tried to rename a bunch of mp3s for use in my car and have the filenames become the title of the song. Does not work at all like it says it does. all filenames show up as "unknown.mp3" Also disapointed that you cannot delete X number of characters from either the front or black of a file name, only find a replace. Not worth $1
Add MetaData edit.
I got this app to better organize an audiobook. I like all the options, Sequence, Find and replace, nice job. I see that all the Metadata is loaded, but I don’t see a way to edit that. I think adding that capability would make this a great app worth far more than the $0.99 you charge. Based on the price of other Metadata editors.
Add support for regular expressions. To use regular expression on "Replace Text" action, enable the "Regular Expression" checkbox.
