BTT is a Bluetooth®-enabled, app-configured tap timer from Hunter Industries that lets you automatically irrigate gardens, plants, flowers, and seedlings right from a hose faucet! BTT is easy to operate and simple to set up. It provides you with several convenient options to remotely program irrigation wirelessly from a smartphone. This means no more climbing around shrubs, stepping on delicate plants, or going outside to turn on the water. This app allows you to: • Remotely manage unlimited BTTs up to 32' (10 m) away • Manually start, stop, or suspend irrigation for up to seven days • Configure watering schedules using independent Timer or Cycling modes • View battery levels and connection status • Set language preferences • Assign passcodes to each device for additional security The Bluetooth® word mark and logos are registered trademarks owned by Bluetooth SIG Inc. and any use of such marks by Hunter Industries is under license.
Update killed the app
And my plants. Thanks much. Update and my whole timer system stopped.
Last update killed the app
It was working ok for years. Now the app cannot find my water timers. Terrible
Very limited
The Bluetooth range is very limited. It cannot turn on an outside faucet from inside the house. It loses connection very easily and does not reconnect very easily. To reconnect, I must turn off my iPhone by clearing memory and then find unit once I’ve turned on my phone again. It does not hold the schedule or watering duration data in the unit so if the connection is lost the water does not turn on as scheduled. To use the timer I must keep my phone on inside my car which is about 6 feet from my water faucet. In short this is a very disappointing and useless purchase. I’ve purchased a b-hyve which allows me to at least turn on my outside faucet from inside my house and program more schedules. Had I known the limitations or poor design or poor app operation of the Hunter BTT, I would not have purchased it. Btw I purchase a second unit to see if the first unit was a dud. Unfortunately the second unit is as bad as the first purchase.
Works well when it doesn’t crash
The usability is great when it fictions, but most of the time I can’t connect to the BTT valve because it crashes every to time it tries to connect. The app is either half baked or needs more updates.
App no longer works on Apple
after a few yrs of service which was great this no longer works . i have not changed anything, but the app suddenly cannot find the timer. batteries are fully charged. deleted app and reloaded several times. i was going to get another one but seeing the newer reviews, will look for a different irrigation timer. it is too bad this is the height of summer and the garden is bone dry without the 5 am drip going. i hope my garden doesn’t die. i have IOS. Hunter fix the app!!!
App crashes
I really like the product but the app crashes more often than it doesn’t. You can still manually press the button on the timer to turn the water on but for scheduling changes (which is the only reason you would buy one), you need the app- also having a hard time finding a way to contact Hunter about it.
Bluetooth connectivity worthless
App works but bluetooth has a terrible range (about 10 feet). App needs to “search” for available controllers and “connect” to it EVERY time you open the app. And then if you dare to move an inch, you’ll lose connectivity. The developer says this is updated frequently…it’s not! Scheduling is unnecessarily complicated. I would not have bought the controller if I had experienced this app first.
