GPS Location shows your current location, date & time to the second along with a scrollable map. Share your coordinates over SMS (text message), email, Twitter, Facebook or Weibo! If you share over email, Twitter or Facebook, GPS Location also attaches a screenshot so you can easily remember what the surrounding area looked like. You can copy your coordinates & locate anything you can find on the map with accurate crosshairs. Have a telescope that needs your coordinates & the current time? Need to know the coordinates for your hunting stand? Going on a trek and need to find your lat/long? Want to scroll around the world and see where your favorite landmarks are? GPS Location is what you need. After launch, the map automatically centers on your location. Coordinates of the map's center are shown in three formats (DD-MM-SS.S, DD-MM.MMM and DD.DDDDD). Elevation is shown feet & meters. Your phone's time is shown in Greenwich Mean Time (aka Zulu time). To recenter the map on your location, just hit the crosshairs button. iPod touches and wifi-only iPads do not have GPSs. These devices will not be as accurate. The iOS GPSs output in the WGS84 datum. GPS Location display coordinates in WGS84. If you have any problems or suggestions, please email us at [email protected].
Very versatile.
I use GPS for all sorts of things including navigation when I am piloting my plane. I have depended on it for years. It is very straightforward and easy to use.
Great GPS app
I’ve tried many, and they’re all so bloated with stuff you don’t need. This has the basics down pat. Shows you your gps coordinates out to 5 decimals, and let’s you “move” the crosshairs to a location where you can send someone the location of anywhere you designate…even if you’re not actually there yourself. However, I downgraded by one star because the heading function uses magnetic north and not true north, with no option to change it (or at least accept the setting on the phone for try north). It’s super great to include that…it’s useful as a compass. But without declination it’s off by 11 degrees or so.
Used to love this app. But it always freezes in iOS 14
Hi! This app crashes whenever I want to share my location via email or text. Started after had to move to iOS 14. I can no longer choose who I want to share with and hit send them close app. I get weird message about plain text at the top and options are cut off. I’m so distressed. It is the ONLY one that does everything I need: display digital GPS coordinates in editable form for later copy/paste, create a Google maps link, AND BEDT OF ALL include screenshot with satellite aerial photo so I know where I was! I use this for wildlife species mapping
Works
It does what is says it will do. I use it to set up my Telescope. Excellent.
Great App!
Great little jewel! Whether you are traveling or not, this navigator is just fun. Very accurate, smooth, and fast. Highly recommended and extremely useful.
Works well as is; needs some tweaks
I find if I want standard GPS coords, this does fine. However, the UI could use some optimization for newer hi-res screens. Looking dated on my iPhone 8. Also: 1) allow toggling between GPS formats so that info doesn’t take up so much screen space. 2) add UTM. I do volunteer surveys with a large municipal utility, and all their maps are UTM out of ArcGIS. I have to use a different app to use UTM maps.
Broken
Not picking up coordinates. Shows me off the coast of Africa, as one of the other reviews noted. This app has only one function, and it doesn't work. Time to delete it, I guess
- The share & copy menus on the iPad now work again. Because, you know, they should work. - In the last version, if you were checking out your awesome GPS Location (that little blue dot) and you moved the map around with your finger, the app turned the GPS off and stopped showing your location. We changed things so that your location is shown whenever it's on the screen. You can still toggle tracking your position with the crosshairs button just like before. - Fixed a crash snuck into the last version. Before if you went to the share menu then told the app to save a screenshot, the app would crash instead of saving the photo. That's just not right. Fixed! - Kicked the map crosshairs so that they're in the right spot on the iPad. Thanks to all our awesome users! Please shoot us an email at [email protected] if you find any problems.
