Help
I can’t figure out how to access “network storage” feature! Please make it more obvious in the app
Useless
Maybe it’s the latest update but all I get is a white screen when I open this app. Have reinstalled ,turn my phone off and back on. Nothing works. This app is garbage.
App is very limited administrative access
Download app. Put in required information and my router ID. That’s as far as it let me go. No option to go back to main dashboard for editing or review. Maybe another universal app available?
Couldn’t set up my AXT 1800 router
I used a browser instead. The app was deleted.
Very good app to setup GL-Inet router, although missing an important feature
Really like the app, good UI and functionality to setup router from scratch or adjust common configuration settings! I’d like to see one very key functionality in the future, pretty much a reason I bought the router - travel. If only the app could automate the most common common workflow dealing with captive portals and internet connection.. Today it is totally up to a user and app isn’t helping at all, and even confused me as I was expecting it offer some help. Something like this would be awesome: - router and app should detect if there are internet issues and detect captive portals automatically - then router needs to prohibit clients from connecting to the outbound internet for security; disable DNS settings, AdGuard and VPN - then iOS app would prompt in a separate window to deal with captive portal, similarly how MacBooks and iPads and iPhones do today - alternatively offer an option to import MAC address (the only reliable option in my experience so far) - once connection to the internet is established, enable back all the DNS, AdGuard and VPN settings and after that enable clients to access the internet securely. Something like this would make this the best secure travel router friendly to everyday users!
Does the job
I have no issues managing my Slate router with this app.
The App vs Web Interface
The App is enough to get a basic setup, but missing most of the Admin console from the web interface features. As a Network Engineer the hardware is solid at the price point and able to serve many use cases. However, the app needs to include each and every option that is in the web Admin console. Why have an app that is not fully functional. Why should the end user have to go to two different interfaces to completely configure their device. While I now have 4 Gl-iNet routers for various use cases within a much larger network. Its a pain to have to access the advanced features via a web browser when there’s an app that could do the same thing. Gl-iNet, do better, be better add 100% of the functionally to the app that is in the Admin Web Console.
