Big disappointment
Had been using FoboTire with iPhone 8 without issues. Upgraded to iPhone 10 and app/device will not sync with Bluetooth. After viewing faq’s I turned off lte and app/device fails to sync. I have been emailing for support and although they reply promptly their feedback doesn’t address my issue. I am referred to a YouTube on basic installation. They claim product is compatible with iPhone 10 but it isn’t. Will look for a product that has customer service which addresses any specifics I may have and more importantly, works with iOS. Will also share results on Amazon.
App wants location services enabled “always”
If you don’t enable location services for the app, it sets off an extremely loud, disturbing and offensive alarm when you open the app. Setting the location services to “while using” isn’t even enough to stop this frightful behavior. Guess what? I, and I alone, get to decide how much access I want an app to have. It is my decision whether I want this stupid app to have access to my location. The authors of this app demonstrate complete ignorance and arrogance of privacy concerns. It does not make sense for the app to need to know the location of the user’s phone, but that’s not the issue. All other apps quietly complain if they don’t have access when they want it. The author of this app sounds like a ten year old kid throwing a tantrum when he doesn’t get his way. Fix this problem or I throw out your stupid TPMS.
Location services, FoboTire wants your location
Time to update your app guys ! It is completely wrong to try to force your customers to have location services always on. You are now in the land of iOS 11, and greater user choice for the customer is available. When you open the app now it will give an annoying loud alarm when you have location services disabled(and always when you have it set to when using the app). FoboTire wants your location all the time, not acceptable at all guys. Make a change. ------ older review App crashing when selecting a car On the latest update the app is now crashing when I select the first car on my list. I have three cars in total on the app, the 2nd and 3rd work ok-but when selecting the 1st one the app is crashing every time - even after reboots and forced rebooting of the app ! Needs to be addressed. --------older review Not sure why but this app needs to have location services on. Not needed in my opinion
Bug report
Every time I connect, it prompts to enable in-car unit sync and stays at "connecting" forever. If I logout and log back in, everything works again but I have to do this every time I open the app. Please fix.
Problems on iPhone 6
The app would be great if I could actually read the pressure. The text for the tire pressure is too large on my iPhone 6, resulting in truncation. For example 35.5 reads as “3…” rendering the app all but useless. I will happily update my review if this gets fixed in a timely manner. For now though, it is completely unusable.
App Crash Since Update
Love this product, but since updating, app crashes, which makes it all useless. Please address this problem asap. Thanks!
Lots of useless and annoying features but sort of works
App requires a login email that you validate, for no apparent reason. Why do I need an account for the App to check tire pressure via Bluetooth? Who knows, but the App periodically loses your login, making the unnecessary login requirement even more annoying. You also don't seem to b able to login from more than one device (say two people drive the car and both want to use the app? Tough luck, it will log one or both users out). The App assumes you want it always on in the background to check pressures and warn you, and it accomplishes this by asking to always have geolocation access - if you refuse it plays a loud annoying alert sound each time you start the app. They did not program in a landscape view so it doesn't work properly on an iPhone in landscape, or an iPad.
