This app displays the waveform of the sound from the microphone. In addition, it can display a spectrum by Fourier transform. You can check the frequency characteristics of the sound. There are functions of peak detection, peak hold. Supporting the Pinch Zoom Gestures. It help sound adjustment and howling analysis.
Fun & Easy Educational Tool
This free App is a quick & easy way to illustrate Fourier modes and even concepts like frequency & pitch. My thanks to the developer, Eisaku Nozu, for creating & sharing it.
Easy to use but need to improve accuracy
App is very intuitive and free. It shows numerical values of frequency of peeks. However, the value is not super accurate. For example, the middle A sound is 440Hz. The app shows 441.4. And it’s happening on both my iPhone and iPad. So it’s very unlikely due to the microphone.
Compact size, ad free, versatile, difficult to use
This is a wonderfully, basic, simple, graphical FFT app. If I authored it, it would look a lot like this. On the iPhone 13 Mini, the menu is very difficult to tap on because it’s underneath the iOS clock. The pinch to zoom only zooms in on low frequencies on the left. I never found a way to inspect 500-1000Hz specifically. I’m hanging onto this app. I like imagining how this may evolve into something better.
A Down-To-Earth Spectrum Analyzer and Oscilloscope
There are no ads you have to worry about with this app, it’s very straightforward to use, and it works exceedingly well with external audio interfaces like my IK Multimedia iRig 2, which is typically used with guitars and other musical instruments. Perfect for those of us who still like to repair tape decks, where precise frequency readings are essential, especially for motor speed and playback head azimuth adjustments. The app was definitely a big help for replacing the belts on my Sony cassette deck from 1996. 👍
Good App
A decent free FFT app. I’m not sure of its accuracy, but that may be a factor of the iPad microphone too. It has an easy to use display, and clearly shows the peak of the spectrum, as well as a view or the waveform.
Pretty decent
A little tweaky in resizing bandwidth but VERY straight forward and very useful for live sound control. No ads.
Fixed a bug that did not work properly on iOS16.
