Description
Clicking on email links is dangerous. They could be phishing attempts, links to malware, or just confirm to a spam sender that your email is legit, prompting more to be sent your way. Email Link Protector works by inspecting urls when you click on links in Mail and other, non browser apps. Whenever you click on a link in Mail, Email Link Protector will step in and confirm you *really* wanted to click that link, giving you the opportunity to back out. You may also proceed, once you complete a couple checks. This app was developed because my grandma (who is slowly losing her mind, forgetting our repetitive warnings NOT to click on email links) was clicking email links left and right, so my family was concerned she was eventually going to become susceptible to a scam (if she hadn't already that we hadn't been made aware of). Ultimately, I think this is the best use case - install this on the machines of your loved ones who don't know any better than to NOT click on email links and help remind and prevent them from getting scammed! That said, I intend to use it myself to protect against accidental clicks or when I'm not thinking something through. Stay safe out there!
