At the end of the day, you have to remember to eject any drives connected to your Mac before unplugging. With Ejector for Mac, you don't have to remember. EjectBar is designed to be discreet with a simple monochrome menu bar icon. It even dims when no drives are connected. EjectBar is designed to be lightweight and secure. And it fits right in with light and dark system themes. EjectBar: disconnect drives fast.
Useful; Inconsistent UI
The app does what it says it does, but dismissing it can be a pain. Sometimes, pressing the menu bar icon again dismisses the window. Other times, pressing it again "stacks" a window on top of another. It's essentially a game of "click at random parts on your screen" in order for me to get rid of the window most times.
Good but needs keyboard shortcuts
Would be 5 stars, but lacking a MAJOR feature. Custom keyboard shortcuts. I need two types of shortcuts: 1) Eject ALL attached media 2) Allow assigning of multiple keyboard shortcuts, each tied to a specific device. This would allow my Streamdeck to eject all drives with a tap, or only eject certain ones.
OK for attached drives
Does not work with mounted disc images, which I use extensively. Works fine for external drives, if that is your sole need.
Dangerous! Do not buy!
Using this app caused my computer to slow down and become unresponsive. i restarted my computer but the problem persisted even after i quit EjectBar. the problems dissappeared when i uninstalled EjectBar. Do not waste $2 on this malware!
Works well on M1 MacBook Pro
This works as advertised. Click the menubar icon to show a list and eject a single drive at a time. Right-click the menubar icon to eject all.
Crashes on Apple Silicon
This app is great. But those with machines running on Apple's M1 chip should be aware that the app crashes on those machines.
Only one negative so far on M1 Mac
I don't know if this happens on Intel Macs, but on my M1 MBP, if I use Eject Bar to eject my external drives, it closes the app. Then, if I reconnect the drives without rebooting the computer, I have to relaunch the app to eject the drives again. It's easier to just shift-click all the drives and hit cmd-e.
