DriveSaver® is the first and only hard drive simulator for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Created by DriveSavers Data Recovery, it’s a virtual world that gives you a realistic sense of the disastrous feelings, sights, and sounds of data storage device failure. Anyone who ever wanted to see inside a hard drive or learn why drives fail must try it! The most popular feature of the application is “Crash a Hard Drive,” a simulation of real-world drive failures that users experience daily. Watch a head crash score the platters and turn the data into dust, and, in the new version 1.1 update, see a Solid State Drive (SSD) circuit board go up in smoke chip-by-chip. DriveSaver® enables users to explore the different parts of the drive and their function. And, if data loss does occur, DriveSaver® can help prevent catastrophic loss with dos and don’ts for data recovery.
Far above what I expected
The iPhone module alone is worth the free download. Chipset clusters are clearly identified and the data storage differences between SSD, HDD, and Raid, couldn’t have been more clear. I would love to see improvements to the liquid and physical damage simulations. I think people would understand why liquid damage is so destructive to device hardware with better hardware. Great app and worth the download
Hard drive simulator?
What happened to the hard disk simulator feature of the app? I used to always use the DriveSavers simulator app to demonstrate to people the importance of backing up data and how there were many different ways drives could fail at any time.
Love the RAID calculator!
Very useful to have this be an interactive learning experience
Very Educational
I'm always amazed at how little people know about how their data is stored. Irreplaceable memories or data are just spinning away on a hard drive, or sitting on flash on a phone. This app goes a long way to bridge that knowledge gap, so you can show people what's happening with their data. Great app!
Blowing my mind
This app could possibly be the best thing to happen to data managers everywhere!
Good sounds aren't great
Good app for demonstrating however the sounds don't sound realistic at all it'd be nice to have them sound more accurate
I like it!
Sure beats hearing your own hard drive fail!!! I've been inspired to backup today.
- Beautifully redesigned in SwiftUI for an enhanced app experience (iOS 14 and later). Best experience in dark mode! - New animations - Misc. UI/UX upgrades - Bug fixes - iOS 15 ready
