Not anything more than clearing cache and trash can...
I did not heed adrianstrides warning and bought this piece of $#!^ which basicly tries to delete basic basic basic data. It also asks to delete macs voice feature to free up like 500kbytes….why???
Not bad, but not really amazing
Basically it removes some cached files and offeres to clear your trash and downloads folder. It cleared up about 1gb for me, but I need to find where the other 100GB is coming from...
DEVELOPER COMMENT
Disk Cleaner Pro is now compatible with OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion!
Works as expected
Cleared a few hundred MB of language files and 2GB of other stuff.
Tech support not very helpful
I bought the program which works reasonably well to delete items but deleted something I ended up needing to recover. I went to their support website listed on the Apple app site above and it is the same as their developer page and both offer zero support and make zero mention of even the product. I email my question to them and while prompt in their replies not at all helpful. My questions are below with their responses: I have inadvertently deleted a file I need to recover. I have a recovery application that has found files that were deleted but I cannot seem to locate the need files that I deleted with your program. Are they moved to a specific directory? Their Response "Hi Ryan That's terrible news. Unfortunately, the program is designed to delete files, and to do it permanently. DCP doesn't do any special tricks like zeroing out the hard disk space or purging the catalog, so it's possible that a recovery program might help. But I'm afraid I do not know anything about file recovery and so I don't know how to help you. I sincerely hope that you are able to retrieve these files. Evan" My followup question: Is it stored in a particular folder when deleted? Thier follow up answer…which fails to answer the question. "No, it's just "deleted". It's moved to a folder." OK, WHICH FOLDER??? In other words it just "deletes" things but we have no clue how. In faiorness they only promised to delete items I guess, but having some semblance to how your program actually functions would be nice too. The program HAS to map the deleted items SOMEWHERE, unless it zeros the data which the app says it does not do.
Sweet!
Quick, easy to use. Just cleared 5GB!
