Want to report a pothole, graffiti, or broken streetlight while on the go? Cupertino 311, the City of Cupertino 311 mobile app makes reporting issues like these easier than ever. The app uses GPS to identify your location and also allows you to snap a photo to add to the service request. The submitted requests are instantly routed to the correct administrator in the appropriate City department. This means your service requests will be responded to quickly and efficiently, and you’ll be notified the moment they are resolved!
Account needed?
It really should not be necessary to go through the time and effort to create an account in order to be able to see some level of feedback on requests. Provide an email field for “anonymous” requests, or tie requests to the phone for later retrieval. I filed a request for a traffic issue, but it just ended up going into a void with no contact information for any follow up. Seems as though I may have wasted my time. Cupertino, look at what Sunnyvale has been doing for years if you need some help here.
App design fine, but no point
Literally every request I make, I get a comment back “to file this type of request, call...” What’s the point of having an app where I can submit requests if I have to call in every single request?! This makes the app completely pointless and a waste of space on my phone.
